SNU March Pyramid Lake Rally NEW LOCATION
The Sierra Nevada Unit March Rally has been moved to Pyramid Lake.
For those of you planning to attend the March Davis Creek Rally, the location has changed from Davis Creek to Pyramid Lake. The date is unchanged, Thursday March 27th through Sunday March 30th. Pyramid lake is located in the Pyramid Lake Indian Reservation, 30 miles north of Reno, NV on NV-445. A seemingly bottomless coffee carafe, and informal potlucks are typical fare for rally guests who may choose between relaxing in the campsite, bird watching, working up a sweat hiking and biking along the lake's edge. The Unit will hold a short membership meeting Saturday afternoon. Cost is $5 per night per rig.
Be prepared to exercise your boondocking skills since we will be camping in a dispersed camping area at Pyramid Lake, i.e. in the open desert, near Peican Point without other support facilities such as restrooms, hookups, etc. Have your potable water tanks full, your black and grey water tanks empty, fully charged batteries and be prepared to practice conservation of resources, water and energy, for the weekend. If not someone will be able help you get your battery charged but you will have to hitch up and travel to fill or dump tanks. Another thing to remember is that March brings Spring time temperatures in the Sierra Nevada but nights can be cool. Expect daytime temperatures in the 50's; upper 20's to low 30's at night. The rally is open to SNU and WBCCI members and other Airstream owners and potential owners as our guests.
