Sure could use some time off. This will be a very nice rally. I am almost finished with the 67 GT. A little more polishing, and a few other minor details. This will be the first outing since the restore. Everyone have a safe trip.
Paul, MANY THANKS to you and others that have put this rally together.
The weather reports for this weekend indicate highs in the upper 70s-low 80s range.

You mess with the Strike Team,... you mess with the whole trailer park!!
I'm all packed up and heading to the Shendandoah in just a bit this morning. Can't wait to see my friends and make some new ones. This is going to be an awesome rally.
Here's to everyone having a safe trip and I'll see you there.
If any one wants to stop over on their way to of from the rally, we would welcome your visit. Highland Haven is about 20 minutes off off I-81. Near Roanoake, VA.
I'll be arriving tomorrow evening around 530pm or so. Oh so looking forward to it. I'll be taping the VAP from the KOA on Thursday night so if anyone wants to listen in, that's fine with me.
Rob

OK, it's been a heck of a day. Started this morning around 6:30 going to town to get my extra set of jack stands and floor jack. The thought was this, do the axle swap today, put the old one back on, then at the rally show how to swap an axle. My heart was in the right place, my mind said at the end of the job "Are you crazy?" Lucky for me, a buddy owns a commercial garage and let me use anything I needed. Well, after impacts, die grinders, pry bars, floor jacks, jack stands, hand tools, etc..., etc... etc... it took Doug Rowbottom and I just over four hours to do the job. With that said, after putting on the new one, there was no way the old one was going back on. We will still be doing the axle swap, but it will be more of the "TV" version. We will be bring the old one for people to pack wheel bearing, show how to measure for an axle, etc.... So bring paper and pen to write down what you need to know.
I'll also be showing how to add Air Cond. to your vintage trailer and no one will know its there, unless the really look hard.
Weather is looking good so far, just keep your fingers crossed. Doug, Bill and I will be heading down in the AM, I need to run by the "Staunton Tourist and Conv. Center" to pick up the local area info..
See you guys in the afternoon.

I got in about 6:30 this evening. The Weimer's are already here, the first vintage rig to arrive. The campground is nice and shady, and the weather cool. Won't even need A/C tonight. A big change for me. Here's a couple of pics.
A river, or creek depending on how you look at it, runs behind our area. The sites are mostly level but some need tweaking. I see people fishing at the lake but have no clue if things are biting. And there are ducks and rabbits all over the place, friendly ones that don't even run when you walk up to them. The campground seems to have something for everyone. Cool little spot!
Oh yes, and the WiFi works very well here, but the cell signal doesn't . . .
We will be doing the 600 miles on Thursday. Hope to make it by Happy Hour. Confirmed reservations today. Very helpful people. I'm in 109.
I will have a cold beverage ready when you show up. We are going to be neighbors in 108... Do you know Rob Baker? He is the guy on the Vintage Airstream Podcast with the famous laugh, well he is a neighbor too in site 110

Yes we do, went to his Band Do Da last year or 2006. We had a private concert by a great little community orchestra / dance band.
We are almost ready. We'll hook up tonight after the office and be ready to go at ........ 4am.
