Are you guys going to laugh at us?

Right now, with our trailer increasingly being pulled apart for interior remodeling, I can't believe I signed us up for a Mem. weekend rally. What was I thinking?!? We'll be camped out in an aluminum tent on wheels. At least we have functioning water and cooking systems, or at least I think we do since we haven't actually used our trailer yet. Hope you natives are friendly to very new, very green, Airstreamers.

-Jamie

No problem! I've been there and done that and I'm sure others have too. Last year we went camping in our "new" Bambi II without any functioning systems (no water, no heat, no stove, no plumbing).

You should be ok especially because the campground has nice bathrooms with hot showers plus most of the meals are provided as part of the rally fees.

We would love to attend, but alas, we are too far away. We will try to meet up with everyone at Scusset Beach this summer. We will be in Pocasset by June, don't know if we are bring the AS so far on our first summer with her.

Just remember that you need inside and outside walls to travel. The rest is optional. You'll have a great time.

Many of us have trailers in various states of remodel/repair

Don't even worry! My beloved Airstream is in the advanced state of clearcoat failure and not one WBCCI member has made fun of her peeling sides. (We will be stripping and polishing her, just haven't gotten the courage to do it yet). You will find many folks have made improvements to their rigs that you will want to include in your remodel, just ask for a tour!

You'l be fine! What you lack in walls you will make up in fun. Our first rally too, so we'll probly bring way too much stuff! (like if that was possible)

Prob'ly should have a floor too, no?. I'll try to keep it together until after the rally then.

The timing of the rally might not be too bad after all -- a chance to talk to all you "been there, done that" folks before we do anything drastic.

Generators

This is good news Gail! We will pack our Honda EU2000 in case our batteries run down over the long weekend as we have moved to site W30 (my folks are taking E40). We have been pleased to find so far that with careful usage of voltage we can get 4+ days out of our batteries without having to recharge. Careful usage for us means limited interior and exterior lights, playing the radio/CD, watching about 1 to 2 hours of TV per day and 8+ hours per night running Leon's C-Pap machine.

Appetizer contest: YIKES! I'm not much of a cook so I'm now pouring through my cookbooks trying to figure out what I can make that would be popular with the Airstream crowd. Hopefully something wicked easy but wonderful....

Now Michelle, a little bit of your wine added to the food will give the perfect flavor! You'll win the contest for sure! See, I just gave your secret away.
