I haven't thought of Scusset beach in years. I spent one of the most miserable nights of my young life there over 30 years ago.
When I was about 13 years old, my Boy Scout troop hiked from a nearby Scout Camp (either Camp Child or Camp Squanto, I forgot which) and camped on the beach. As it got dark, a thick fog rolled in from the water. We were in sleeping bags directly on the beach, no tents. Everything became soaking wet with sand clinging to everything. It was cloudy the next morning so we didn't dry out for quite a while.
Looks like it was too much FUN! Hope the heat wasn't too bad......

We had a great time, enjoyed seeing everyone. Nice to meet some more people from the forum.
The weather during the day was hot but, with a strong breeze to keep us cooled down. The evenings were very cool. The "Flamingo Night" went very well with a good sized crowd, festive clothing, good food and in lieu of a campfire we had the electric palm tree and flamingo's. It was a sight to see and gave the illusion of warmth on a very cool night.
We had lots of families and kids in the "riff raff" section. Too fun! All our dogs were well behaved too.
Kite flying, bike rides, walks to the beach and along the jetty kept us busy as well as just sitting around and talking. Several of us went to the Christmas Tree Shop to stock up on all things "flamingo" and in preparation of the lobster dinner., then went to lunch at Seafood Sam's.
If you didn't make it this year, better sign up early next year!
Glad we stopped by to enjoy all the wonderful tropical dishes at potluck! It was nice seeing everybody. We would have loved to stay for the weekend, but a thing called work and a paycheck gets in the way. See you all at the "Safari Rally"

A little late, but I finally got around to getting the pictures off the camera and found this beautiful sunset pic. Pictured trailers are front to back dougjamie, muddy hollow, and M&M CapeCod.
This was our first outing and overnight with the Safari and we had a great time hangin' out with everyone. The New England Unit really is a friendly and fun group and we're looking forward to future rallies. We're going to start putting down the new floor soon. If all goes well (meaning on schedule), we'll see you at the Summer Safari!
Hey all,
What a great time we had this past weekend. For anyone interested in the green Quik Shade we had up for the weekend. It's on sale at REI for $99. I was impressed with how well it held up in the non stop wind we had. Here is the link: http://www.rei.com/online/store/Prod...ry_rn=4500540&

M&M We went out and bought the shade. Like it so much we set it up on the back deck. Had to go back to buy another for camping. I also bought some western clothes for my flamingo to wear at the western theme at the Summer Safari. This past weekend at Scusset was a real blast. We had so many flamingoes and the tree and decorations we almost didn't fit it in the truck to head home. Hope to see you all soon
