Quartzsite mini(or not) boondock rally...?

Hey good people,
How's about a desert boondock around Quartzsite(Q) in March...date TBA sometime later this week? Most of the crowd is gone, the selection of sites is pretty wide open, and the weather should be really nice. No prizes, to speak of, no specific itinerary, just campin' wit th' homefolk...
You'll need to bring a bit of firewood, as it's BLM land and they don't want you using their(our?) already dead wood. There are several areas to use for free(14 day limit), or there are some fee areas which require $40 for 14 days, or $180 for an 8 month specified period. Hmm, let's think about this...one weekend for free, when I could pay money for the same thing...?
I know, tough decision, but we'll figure it out...
I hate to admit it(JimMini), but I think Plomosa is the best spot for a few trailers. So, what do ya"ll think?

Gee Richard, you oughta like the idea...IT WAS YOURS!!!

25: I don't know how to cross over a map form our all-in-one to the computer, but I could snail-mail you a copy if you'll pm me your address.

There are some fairly specific directions on one of the threads...I'll have to look it up, but I spelled out the areas to Artstream(he's next door, now) in (for me) detail...I think it was the DH2 thread.

We're in! Unless work screws it up.

I suspect I'll be bringing some So. Cal. folks with me. Boondocking is just not right without Bree and Tofu.

Gee, haven't met either of them yet...are they an item, or just married?

WORK...the REAL four-letter word...

Just quit & get another job when you go back...if you do go back...

OK...
I went by where JimMini and I had the 'mini-mini rally(pun) without Mini...
There was someone there, but there are mega spaces to use, level all over, either side of the road...many have firerings already built, and you can even choose your site by firering size(# coming). Our best shot at this is 14t, 15th, and 16th...not much notice, but we don't know if we will be here after that...we're at the mercy(or lack thereof) of a scheduling receptionist...
If this isn't gonna work for folks, maybe you could cajole Jimini into it...?
BTW, Jimini, I went by that Squarestreamer's house...driveway without vehicle...the Square is still there but has been moved further left.

I sure wish we could join you guys but the darn Job thing just gets in the way. I also don't know if I have it in me to shovel all the snow that blocks the blocks the airstream right now. I've set an appointment to have it in Denver for new curtains in April , and that's pushing it. Someday I'll have a longer camping season.

Charlie,
Sorry, we will miss you...I was feeling kinda bad about the short notice, but got to thinkin' at the campfire, tonight, that another advantage to 4CU(and others that can cut loose) is that we will ALL miss some of the rallies, especially the spontaneous ones, BUT, there will be another one...yet another old tradition renewed(ok,ok...so Africa and Europe, and maybe a few hundred others weren't spontaneous, but the IDEA was to take what time you could, when you could.

JimMini,
we'll keep in touch...if you come early, you could help find a good place(if the last one is still taken), since you've been out there more than us. Yeah, I'm sure he will be back...the ATV's were still at the end of rhe drive, uncovered...prob'ly dinner or a day trip.

Richard has offered to move this thread to the public forum, and open it up...I don't know if we lose this thread, or just how that works. I sent him an email, and am waiting to hear back...any serious objections?

Airstream 25,
I hope this can work for you...let me know if I need to send maps

4CU is doin' it again!

Short notice is OK

Short notice is OK, the Internet makes it easy to get the word out.

Public forum is OK with me.

I found a crappy map at;
http://www.quartzsitebusinesschamber.com/images/map.pdf
I don't think we will make it, but party on & send pics!

Ms Bam,
Lookin' forward to your sunny smile...have missed you.

AS25,
Put out by the chamber of commerce...?more like the chamber POT of commerce... ...sorry you won't make it, too. we'll tip and snap for you.

Richard,
THANKS for the general forums transfer, and the idea, and the help, and...oh, hell-THANKS

Airstreamart and I went out today and scouted Quartzsite, Plomosa Road CG, some wilderness areas that will probably be next-year's boondock, and some areas of interest...I tink he will be there...Michael, are you out there?

I really look forward to this...bring wood, if you can...it's $4.45(inc tx) here in Q...I'm sorry to say, we are down to our last two disposable gummy flamingoes, but more will be ordered this week, I hope...

Hi Scrappy!

*waving*

I'm going to try to work out a visit.
The girls are getting together the weekend before
(ladies check out the 2008 Western Region Women's Rally
and join us at Lake Casitas in CA near Ojai) but I digress...

I haven't been to Quartzsite before and it sounds like a hoot
especially with such fun company.
