We were thinking about bringing a ham and making some home made mac & cheese. Richard we have a burner for frying a turkey, but do not have a large pot. What size would you recommend for that? It may make it easier to have two burners going. What do you think?

Now that we have directions, have had our palates tempted with what everyone is fixin', the trailer is packed and our dog Remington and I are pumped up for the road trip to warm and sunny AZ for a break from our cold weather, one of Gary's clients has scheduled a "must be there" meeting for Wednesday. Since we needed to leave Tuesday afternoon to get to Quartzite by Weds I guess we will cancel for this year but will try for next year. Guess I can spend the time off figuring out the Forums. You all have fun and we'll see you next year!

Why not leave on Wednesday and arrive on Thursday? It's a long weekend.
We will arrive late morning on Thursday.

Jim and (maybe) Mini will be bringing a turkey to fry as well. Since Howard is bringing 2 smoked birds and Louis is bringing a ham, I think we will just bring one. That will give us 4 birds and 1 ham for the dinner.

Louis- I think that we should fry them back to back. There is no reason to setup both to go at the same time. It's a lot of oil and it only takes 45 minutes to get one done.

Jan is also making a green bean casserole and deviled eggs.

Why not bail out on Wed. after the meeting, get as far as Holbrook or Meteor Crater RV Park (west of Winslow) and then come in on Thurs. in time for dinner?

OK, one of our side dishes will be candied yams...not sure about what else, wandering the aisles at Wallyworld...a disaster in the making...since they've started moving things around to increase impulse buying('cause ya gotta hunt for stuff, now), it just might work...THAT sounds good, maybe some of THOSE would be good...yer forewarned>>I have NO IDEA what we're bringin' down the pike.

We have a shipping pallet and a bunch of dried out mesquite from a tree that we cut down last year. We have been saving both for this rally. Should be some good fire wood.
