Spent the weekend with Region 1 President Bob T. and we went over some of the newer details for 2008 Region 1 Rally, WOW! He and his crew have put together an awsome schedule of activities and down time for everyone!
There are three caravans going up so you will not have to travel alone; Pam is running a numbered caravan with a wonderful drive up and back. Dan is working on a caravan which details will follow and I am running an Express Caravan for those who don't or can't take extra vacation time. There are still site available with 15 amp and water. We will have the whole campground to ourselves with 100 rigs! Sign up quickly and please get your deposits in! This will be a wonderful experience in an incredible setting!

We are signed up too!
Happycampers and dufferin you will be meeting lots of AirForums members at the PEI Region One in 2008. The NEU has a large percentage of it's club signed up for the rally already (and most of our active members are active on AirForums).
The NEU has three caravans (yep, that's right, three) that will have the PEI rally as their destination. I call them the fast, medium and slow caravans, but of course this is not their real names. We are signed up for the slow one, meaning we will be taking just over a week to get to the rally site. We plan to see sites in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia before taking the ferry over to PEI, attend the rally for the week and then we'll take a couple of days to get back to the New England area. I have a list of things I want to see and do that is four pages long at this point. I would need three months to do everything that I'm interested in.
Oh, btw if there are folks who are interested in this rally I recommend you get yourselves signed up quick. I spoke to the Region One President this past weekend and he told me that the rally is about 75% full! I know that the campground the rally is being held at has 100 sites so my math skills tell me he has 75 paid rigs.

Hey Guys, we might be intersted in this one.
Is ferry transportation being organized?
Where can I get more details on the Caravans so we can see which one might suit or schedule?
Thanx, Bill

Bill - As things look right now, the Express Caravan will be leaving the NH area 8:00 AM 8/16/08, dash for upper Maine and spend the night. Early departure from Maine and dash for the ferry to arrive at R1 Sunday late afternoon. Coming home will be a repeat. Details will follow soon!

Hey Rick, I think you guys would be better off going over the Confereration Bridge to PEI, I believe the ferry would be a much further drive (ferry is from Nova Scotia, bridge is from New Brunswick).

I have been told it is cheaper to take the bridge over and the ferry back. I plan on checking into it in the spring.

The NEU Caravan we'll be traveling with is taking the ferry one way to PEI just because it is an adventure! While on the ferry I'm going to pretend I'm traveling with Wally on one of his oversea caravans. Just hope we won't need to have my trailer hauled onto the ferry via cables and a crane....

We will all have to wear our Blue Berets on the ferry. Lets go Wally all the way!

Going over to PEI there is charge for either the ferry or the bridge. You pay to GET OFF the island.

Yes there is but I think it is less if you go over on the bridge and back on the ferry. I will have to check on that to be sure. I will try to do that before we leave this winter.

Take the ferry to get in and the bridge to leave the Island.
You don't pay on your way in you pay when you leave.
Ferry with two axle is about 80$ can or us now
Bridge with two axle 56$.
