Just got back from Chicago for work. Allie made a valiant effort and I am helping pack now too. Looks I'll be good to go tomorrow morning, if a smidge sleepy.

Beautiful location!

The NEU Maritime Discovery Caravan arrived late yesterday morning.
The R1R is being held in a most beautiful location here in PEI. Looking forward to exploring the island after the opening activities are done.

Foodies: New Glasgow Lobster suppers (authentic homemade Maritime fare). For those of a more refined taste, "Malpeque oysters", known world-wide...short drive to Malpeque.

Every destination in PEI is a short drive. Don't you love it?
Have fun,

To hold you over, here is a link to a blog being maintained by the Maritime Holiday caravan folks. From what I have seen of the blog so far, the scenery is exquisite and, of course, there is much "fun, fellowship, & adventure" happening too!

We were expecting VAC members and they haven't showed up yet. I know why.
But if somebody can get in touch with me by PM to confirm their position I would really appreciate.
Thanks for your help on that.

Great time

Just returned from the rally.Met a lot of forum members for the first time. It's great to be able to put a face to a lot of the online names.
Attendance was approx. 100 trailers. The campground owners and hosts Leonard & Michael are fantastic people and the facility was very nice.Great experience.

I just saw that one leaving too.It is so cool. The bridge is quite a marvel of construction. It is 13km (8 miles)long and takes 12 minutes to cross.

Rvtv

There was a film crew there from an RV show(I think it was RVTV) and they were shooting some footage of the rally.I will have to keep an eye open to find out when/if it will be on the show.

Just got back from our long long trip. Thanks to Michael and Leonard for hosting us at such a beautiful campground and Canadian Atlantic for all their hard work in putting on this rally. Thank you Bob T. for getting us all excited to attend. It was a party for sure! Met some really "colorful" new friends. Hope someday to return to PEI. It is just a perfect place to spend time.

Thanks to Pam and Chuck for leading us on this amazing vacation.

Thumbs up I saw this scene yesterday

This was the scene yesterday as the NEU Caravan exited PEI via the bridge. I white knuckled it the whole way, in fact I think my fingerprints are embedded in the steering wheel. There are a couple of sections on the bridge where you are required to climb and descend fairly steeply. Didn't like that part.....

Thank you Canadian Atlantic Unit

Thanks to the Canadian Atlantic Unit, Bob and Harriett Thompson, Joan Drake, Michael, and everyone who worked so hard to make this a wonderful experience.

Great location and facilities. We had a huge tent that was most impressive and held us all. The food was perfect and the entertainment phenomenal. We didn't dare miss a thing.

LOVED PEI and the people. We only met cheerful and chatty Islanders that couldn't do enough to help us out. We also enjoyed every meal out, our visits to the many local businesses, including one very good bakery in North Rustico.

I personally was so impressed with all our new friend from the CAU...David, Diane, Melissa and Brian to name only a few. We met Michael who shared his special Airstream history and numbers tracking with us. All wonderful people.

Thank you so much for everything.... And, remember, we have courtesy parking for when you trek down to central Massachusetts.
