On the road to Salida and RMVAC

Tomorrow morning we leave with the Liner headed to Salida, by way of St. George and North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Everything we wanted complete is complete, except for a working water heater. Hopefully a pro at Salida can help us get it working, worst case - heating water on the stove.

Bill,
We will be hitting the road on Wednesday for the rally with an over night stop in Durango. I believe that their are showers available in the building at the rally site if we can't get the heater to fire. I don't think we camped together since the ice rally in 29 Palms several years ago. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Travel safe...

Richard,

True, I remember the frozen tundra of 29 Palms. No shower in the Liner so the showers at the fairgrounds will be welcome.

I won't hit the road until at least Thursday. Gotta get the last drawers installed in the Overlander and in between all that, get the first part of the frame painted in the Safari. Summer will be over and I've got to get that done. See you all soonest.

Richard & Jan...have fun at the RMVAC in Salida! Please try to look up Shawn & Tiffany Danley at the rally...they are brand new 4CU members from Scottsdale and will be there. Give them a big 4CU welcome and say "Rallly On" to them from us!

We've got five wbcci rigs here now, two of which are headed to RMVAC on Thursday. (We're having some issues with one of the rigs -- tires -- and waiting for a couple of generators to arrive for the other.) Boy, I wish we could hitch up and go with them!

This is "Finals Sunday" at Cheyenne Frontier Days. Tomorrow we'll switch gears to Airstream and the Rockin Wally B. Shunning front range traffic Thursday we'll take the longer but stress-free Colorado back roads to Salida. See ya'll at the tent!

I wish I was able to go, as it is close, but alas I will be heading back to Mojave Ca. again tomorrow. Hope to be home by the first week in Sept.

You guys have a safe trip. We hope to go to this rally next year. Too much going on to get away... and Balloon Fest is looming and will be here before we know it. Say howdy to everyone.

Thanks Louis. I don't think there will be a 2011 RMVAC, but 2012 for sure.

We are at the KOA in Durango. It is one of the nicest KOAs that I have been to. Ice cream and pie tonight, Salida tomorrow!

Well, us and four other Airstreams are at Monte Vista RV in Angel Fire, NM. Such wonderful hosts run this place! See you all in Salida tomorrow.
