Sadly, Jan and I will be hitting the road this morning. We really hate to pull out early, but I need to be back to work after the 4th. Our plan is to travel south and spend the night somewhere around Denver.
The rally has been great and the Vintage area is the best place to stay IMO. The club members are the nicest people you could ever meet and the town of Gillette has really gone out of their way to make us feel welcome.
We had a presentation for next year's rally and that looks like a great place as well.
We will be posting pictures from our trip back to Arizona, thanks for traveling with us!

Thanks for taking us with you. I didn't realize we could all fit inside that TradeWind of yours. See you when you get back to town.
Travel safe.

We made it as far as Cheyenne this afternoon. Heavy rain and 50+ MPH cross winds. Sitting here is the safest thing we can do at this time...

Hello from Abu Dhabi, Richard and Jan... Thanks for the reports of the Gillette rally especially all the pix! Looking forward to seeing more after you get back. Too bad you've got to go back to the job -- this "working thing" isn't all its cracked up to be.
Travel safely, friends!
Best regards...

Thanks for all the replies.
We spent the night at the Flying J, it's not camping but the price is right!
Hitting the road early and hope to be in New Mexico tonight.
Special thanks to Tim for his offer of CP in Longmont. If the weather had been better, we would have been there last night.

You two travel safely! It's rainy here this morning, but the satellite images suggest that it may clear up later.

We made it safe and sound to Lynn's RV Park in Angel Fire this afternoon. We had a nice dinner and it's time to relax in the wonderful cool mountain air at 8640 feet.
A few pictures of todays drive...

Glad you made it through Colorado today, Richard- a couple storms passed through, mostly wind on an otherwise pretty hot day. Safe travels back home- tim

Yep, we had a little storm in the late afternoon and it got pretty cool, so we had to move the bratwurst dinner inside. We were all in jackets when it came time to hang up the hats. (I was unsuccessful at getting Rich and Jan to go down and clean the bathhouse for me tonight, though. Maybe tomorrow morning.)

We are at USA RV in Gallup NM tonight. What a great park, home cooked dinner and live entertainment. Pictures to follow...
We should be home in Phoenix tomorrow, can't wait for that 113 degrees.

That is a nice park, Richard... We stayed there with Louis & Sergio and Julianne on our way to the Heron Lake Rally last year.
Travel safe for the rest of your trip ... we look forward to hearing all about your adventure!

Wow, nice looking place! I think their old reputation, which wasn't so good, needs to be revised since the new owners came in. Also noticed on campgroundreviews.com that all of their newer reports didn't have the really negative stuff that the older ones indicated.

The new owners are doing a great job with the place. I would have never stopped here under the previous ownership. This place is on a "A" list along with Monte Verde in Angle Fire...
