Last night was windy and cool at the campground. More of the same this morning. We have about a 2 1/2 hour drive to Gillette today. We'll be spending the night in the bull pen, so we will not be in a hurry today.

Yeah, the weather patterns seem to favor the northern part of the west for storms lately. We (NM, AZ) could use a little bit of that rain from time to time to keep the forests from going belly-up.

Wish we could join you! At least now the AS has new plumbing, even if it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

We are going to see some storms in the next few days, will try and send some your way. We still have not made our plans for the return trip to Phoenix. Angle Fire sounds like a possibility for an overnight stop. We'll give you a shout if we head that way.

Roger, wilco! We're going to have a few more southbound Airstreams after Gillette, too.

Got to Winnemucca a little after 3:00PM today. Nice drive over the Sierras, lots of snow still on the mountains. Weather here nice, in the mid 70s. A little windy, but that's OK as we may find a field and do some sport kite flying after dinner.

Richard/Jan - As Roadrunner, JulianneJ and others have said, we are doing this trip via your pictures and commentary. Keep us in the loop. Great photos so far of places I want to travel through.

Winnemucca - jeepers Jim, (I like jeepers - reminds me of my dad talking), I thought that was just a word in a really bad song until you suggested it really is a place . It sure did give my spell checker a surprise. Got any pictures of Winnemucca you are willing to share?

No, no photos, but I found many photos and lots of info by doing a Yahoo or Google search "Winnemucca, Nevada"

We are in the middle of a thunderstorm right now, so I thought I would catch up with the trip. We arrived Sunday and were parked Monday morning. We were the only ones in the vintage area for a while. We have been busy with dinners and seminars since we got here. Tomorrow we are planning a road trip...

Where is tent2? There is one next to the coral area and another in the VAC area up in the camping area.

Just looked outside and the VAC one is gone...

It would seem that Laura's avatar is well suited to the weather shown in your pictures at Gillette, Richard.

Beautiful Rainbow - hopefully you are now in for some heat for the next bunch of time.

Last night we were sitting in several inches of water. This morning everything is fine. The ground here really can drain the water well. We had a collapsible trash can fly away, we will be looking for that this morning.

Glad to hear that all you lost was the trash can, hope others fared well. That must have been some storm.
