Ugh! I hope this storm clears out of the area before the rally starts.

You're welcome. I got the link to the story from Dave Schuman. It sure gives one pause to see how close the Airstreams there nearly got flattened, along with the people in them.

I just headed north after spending a week in So. Ill. We experienced the winds and the storms. I had the back of my airstream facing the wind. I lost my Air conditioner cover. It was one wicked storm.

We are parked at the rally in Du Quoin. We are the first ones in the vintage area again this year and the VAC has a great location. We are away from the main area and along a nice lake. We have caught up with a few friends and are looking forward to seeing more.

I think the White Castle burgers just might have made that trip worth it.

We can get them in the frozen food section of our grocery store, but they aren't as good as the "real" ones.
Has the campground gotten cleaned up from the storm, or was it a different campground that got blasted?

We are settled in nicely at our wonderful site in the VAC section, waiting for more vintage units to arrive. I caught several fish in our lake and Jan has been busy feeding the ducks and geese. The weather is holding up, but we might have a wet weekend.

Shari
Over the past week, I have been keeping on eye on the sky to the Northwest as DuQuoin has been being hit by severe weather. Sixty miles to the Southeast in Herrin, we have had heavy rains and wind but no damage. I am hoping for good weather on Sunday as a dead limb fell from a tree during one of the thunderstorms and made a rather large hole in the convertible top of my towcar - - I guess it will be duct tape to the rescue as a temporary repair.

I am hoping to arrive in DuQuoin during the early afternoon on Saturday with this combination:

The problem with stability that I had with this combination the last time out has been solved - - - I had the Dual Cam assembly mounted 1" too far forward on each side of the "A"-frame.

Looking forward to this weekend!

Kevin
