Seen an old AS at Dixie Speedway in the figure 8 trailer race. It lasted a little longer, but got knocked off its chassis. Ended up being a lot of aluminum in the intersection. I don't see too many signing on here, but I can guarantee a fun time. We are looking foward to it and hope we will be able to make it too. Have a couple of other campers lined up also.

Buck, it is still early. Some people still have not made plans for spring break yet. "If you plan it they will come" is what I was told.

This May Work Out!

We cannot say for sure but we may be able to make this rally. We both love motor sports and the destruction side of this makes it all the more interesting.

I'll keep you posted on our plans and let you know if this will work for us.

We have been quite here but don't worry the rally is still going to happen. I am getting excited to have a weekend without our kids. The track and this rally are kid friendly but it falls on our wedding anniversary so we are choosing to leave the girls with grandma for the weekend. Hooray for us. I think we should have some pudding shots to celebrate!

Still on the Fence...

Danielle's schedule is in flux. We would sure like to make this rally. It sounds like fun. We should have a final answer soon.

We're going to South Bend the prior weekend to see USF (South Florida alums) play Notre Dame. We also plan to spend some time en-route at the Licking River Festival and visiting Chicago. Continuing our trip to Kalamazoo would fit right in (I hope).

The Stars Are Aligning....

...So we plan to be there. We'll be spending some time in and around Detroit the week prior to Night Of Destruction. We're going to the Henry Ford Museum. Any other ideas for places to go, places to eat between Detroit and Kalamazoo?

Looking forward to being there.

Lucius

Well Lucius, There is the Rv hall of fame here in Elkhart (we are just east of Notre Dame 20 minutes) It is good for a half day if you walk slow. There are many Rv's made around here and some offer tours of the plants. There are also some Rv sruplus shops here (no airstream specific parts but lots of funiture, water pumps, heaters, airconditioners, stuff like that. In Kalamazoo there is the Air Zoo. I have never been but I hear it is cool with lots of vintage aircraft. I might dig a little and find some web sites for you.

I haven't been here myself but Miller's bar in Dearborn is a must go to place when my inlaws are in town. They were voted the 3rd best burger in the country at one time. You can check out their website at www.millersbar.com.

There is the Detroit Institute of Art and casinos to enjoy downtown. Gilbralter Trade Center in Taylor is an indoor flea market similiar to Trader's World outside of Cinncinati. It's hard to say since I'm not sure what you like to do or see. If I come up with something else I'll post it up.

Thanks for the Suggestions

Hi Everyone - thanks for the suggestions. All those things sounds very appealing to us. Food, planes, art, RVs - what's not to like? Danielle has been looking up some off-the-beaten-path stuff for us to see. We're pretty easily amused so it does not have to be fancy to suit us. Free and low cost are always good.

Thanks again. We're looking forward to the Night of Destruction.

I have a posting on Facebook running also http://http://www.facebook.com/#!/ev...81982345161538
Maybe we can get some more people to come with this.

This is not an Airstream only event. If you have friends you want to bring, by all means invite them! We will have plenty of room. Just remember there are no hook ups.

The time is getting near and I am getting excited. There has been such little response to this event I am nervous. But with no fees and no overhead we have nothing to lose. I would like to get an idea of how many people and trailers to expect. I am sure this will be a great time no matter how many people come.

Have been wanting to come to this rally , still have the plans to come. But the work schedule may not cooperate. We are building a new facility at work and in prep for the grand opening we are having to work extra. Will be last minute decision for us.
