Bill; This is a Northern Illinois WBCCI rally. Not related to Moraine View. Jack has NOT posted anything on June MV.

The Northern Illinois Airstream Club of the WBCCI would like to invite Airstreamers from Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin to join us for our May Rally at Thomson Causeway at Thomson, IL.
We will be getting together May 4-6th at the Thomson Causeway Army Corps of Engineers Park located on the Mississippi River. The park has 50 amp electric sites, with accessible water, toilets and showers. We will be in the River Birch (RIVE) loop sites 79-97.

These 19 sites are known to fill quickly so if you're interested plan on booking a site early.

Just a quick update. Just 3 months out before the Rally at Thomson.
Its February, 4 degrees above zero tonight, and people are contemplating Spring on the River.
Over half the sites have already been taken!
If you're planning on attending its time to think about booking a site.

I just saw a weather forecast and there is a possibility of MAJOR spring flooding on the upper Mississippi. This will depend on the melting of the snow pack in Minnesota and Wisconsin.

One month away from our May Rally and there are only four sites remaining in the loop. If you're interested in attending you can reserve at:

I've checked the NOAA website for the flooding forecast on the Upper Mississippi and at this point they indicate the flood stages during the Spring melt should be normal. While not great for camping, the longer it stays cold in Wisconsin and Minnesota the better for normal water levels during the Rally.
For Friday night there will be Sloppy Joes and sides for dinner. For dessert Dana would like everyone to bring their favorite store-bought cookies. Saturday night dinner still needs to be determined. Breakfast will be provided Saturday and Sunday mornings.
We would like a headcount the help plan the meals so please post here or on the Rally page so we know who's coming.

Two weeks away from our May Rally and there are only three sites remaining in the loop. There's still time reserve a spot if you'd like to join us.
AccuWeather's forecast for the Thomson area claims it will be sunny with highs in 60s.
I hope they're right.
I de-winterized the Tradewind 3 weeks ago thinking it wouldn't be dipping below freezing for much longer. Went out today to start cleaning up and found a wet carpet, ruptured water pipe and broken water intake strainer.
I suspect after the ice melted in the pipe the water heater drained out through the split. Not an uncommon occurrence in a Vintage rig, just a PIA to fix.
Should be repaired in a couple of days.
We'll be out Thursday in site 86.

I talked to Dana today and she wanted to let everyone know there will be a Rally Fee to cover the the cost of the meals. The amount will be determined on a per-person basis.
She also wants to remind everyone to bring their favorite store bought cookie for Friday night.
Lets wish for good weather and we hope to see everybody soon.

We are about 2 weeks out for the second rally of the year. It will be good to get out from the winter doldrums .
Point of information: We will be on the Mississippi River bike path, 60 + miles from Rock Island to Savanna so bring bikes. The second, we are close to Fulton where there is a Windmill that was made and transported in sections to Fulton from the Netherlands. There is a museum across the street from the windmill and it is on an extension of the bike path.
