Our current plan is to pull in after dark on the 31st. It all depends on when Jan gets her hours in at work. We can bring some refreshments as well including a bottle of unleaded for me...

Sounds great Richard, we will leave the light on for you.

We were planning on picking up a couple of bottles of sparkling cider for those who do not drink alcohol.

On New Years day, Jan will be making a pot of ham hocks and black eyed peas. It's a tradition in our house and will guarantee* and healthy and happy new year. *(Void where prohibited by law, batteries not included, your mileage may vary, can not be combined with any other offer, limited to quantities on hand)

On Saturday morning, I will be making a Dutch oven breakfast burrito dish. My plan is to use one egg from the ostrich farm located just around the corner from the park.

We have not done that, but it does sound good. If you want to bring some, that would be great.

Rod always did country ham, black eyed peas and collards. It's a Southern thing. I'm not an avid fan of black eyed peas so I added an Italian flair... Italian sausage (has pork like country ham) cannellini beans and escarole (aka greens and beans). I'll bring a few pounds of sausage and make a pot of greens and beans. Sound good?? We can do it along with the hocks, black eyed peas and collards and have one helluva good meal!!!!!

Do we have enough people coming in on 30th to go ahead and park and settle into the Quail area? I would like to arrive on the 30th.

I have reserved the Quail Group Site beginning Dec 31, I can see if it is available on the 30th. The park has a requirement of a minimum of 15 rigs to even reserve the area. I can check to see if we pay for 15 rigs if we can still use the area for that day.

We plan to get there on the 30th (or maybe the 29th).

Since there is a Southern theme for the first, we will supply some corn bread and grits.

Pot Lucks and Shared Meals

What does everyone have in mind for shared/group meals? Are we going to be doing all of our meals or just some of them as potlucks? If it's just some of them, are there any ideas of which ones? New Years Eve dinner? New Years Day brunch?

I'm playing around with a few ideas - for example, I just bought a huge bag of bananas for a buck. So... I'll bring a few loaves of banana bread to share at breakfast.

I'm also thinking about making a big pot of Pasta Fagioli (an Italian pasta and bean soup)

Any other thoughts?

Bob, we sure will miss you and Lou, we will definitely hoist a toast to you both.

Jim, we are working out some sort of a schedule... of course happy hour every day around 4pm, it looks like a potluck on Thursday. We plan to have coffee in the mornings and we will probably do a breakfast potluck and another dinner if everyone wishes to do so. Is there anyone coming who has a large percolator? It would sure come in handy for the morning coffee. We will bring the coffee and will bring some cinnamon breakfast pastries for at least one morning.
