Snow in New Mexico? Gosh have I lived a sheltered life! I thought you lived in the land of sun and warmth almost the entire year and figured snow drifts were the things we Canadians and those in the northern states only experienced.

Barry:
Up here in el Norte, we do get that white stuff. Two years ago - 30 inches of it between Christmas and New Years eve. Then again we are at 7000 ft. Still it is not like the winters we had in North Dakota when I was in grad. school.
When are you going to get the flying cloud flying and come south and visit?
Wow, that is a lot of snow Howard. I'm impressed. Living on the Wet Coast of Canada we do get some snow but it lasts for short periods and gets rainshoveled away.
As for flying the 'cloud we have a bit of a wait yet I'm afraid. We'd thought perhaps over the Christmas holiday but that was nixed so now I await some mid January tests that may either offer a solution, or a temporary work around, so I can get out and about more than a couple of hours away from the home turf. It would look like Dead Horse would be a potential but we won't know until the last week of January. So we are targeting DH and if that has to change then so be it. I'm sorely missing my travelin down the road in the '57 with FC in tow dreams, even if I am in the passenger seat now. But that will come, soon enough my wife says as she remembers my penchant for providing passenger seat sage driving advice and keeps trying to remember to bring her duct tape

Shows to go you that I need to get out of the house more often. Next thing you know Goin will be on here saying he might make it but for the risk of snow and then we'll know this global warming thing means global freezing. Our long range forecast is for a lot of rain here in the lower mainland and snow snow snow in the mountains around us. Oh well.....

Barry,
I have a route charted that avoids the snow between Los Angeles and Tucson.
I can't find the sign-up page. Also you might want to take this rally out of the private site to the puplic site like the WBCCI rally site
We don't have a sign up page yet, as I wanted to ensure we had enough folks to even reserve a group site. I will work on getting this moved and have a sign up page.

You gotta love a New Years party that includes chains....
It would seem that while you are basking in the sun we shall be dancing in the rain, so to speak. It's gonna be a wet winter for us and heavy snow in the mountains. Oh well, party on and we'll be thinking about you and wishing we could participate.

"When a cowboy's too old to set a bad example,he hands out good advice". I know, advice is cheap but here is mine. The 4CU welcomes folks from other unit to cowboy up and join us for a grate 4CU New Years rally. "Don't dig for water under the outhouse".
