Hey, I think you should put the entry form for the cookoff on the website. It is the first time that I have seen it.

I am a mean dutch oven cooker, but I do mine in a dutch oven meant to go on a trail size gas burner. Will I be a legal contestant, or do I have to buy a cast iron one, and slave over an open fire??????

not only must you do all that, but you must also dig your own hole in the ground!

(j/k. I don't make the rules. Hard pressed, as it is, just to follow them )

Anyway....its "up" on the website. not that it'll look any different than what you clicked on, here...but its up there.

Sorry Gail...... must be cast iron and your entry presented in it from whence it was cooked. Last time we did this we had over 25 entries and 50% of the folks were first timers. So I guess it's just the two rigs so far.

Oh well......Maybe I will use mine anyway to cook a birthday cake for Bob. I just won't enter the contest......

And, Chuck, there is NO WAY that I am going to dig a hole, unless you bring lobsters and clams to cook in it. We can get lots of seaweed to line the pit at the beach.........

Sorry, I don't have a rally list together yet

Too much for me to do in regards to the business meeting rally. I'm running everything for the installation with (currently) just a few volunteers. At this point it's just me, Leon, my sister and her husband, Per and Pam. We are putting on a full installation dinner so if you are attending please be sure to volunteer an hour or two of your time.

Skip---I got all excited when I saw that you had posted on this thread.....thought you folks might be going to this rally....oh well..

I remember you guys, and Robin and Richard, cooking over your hot coals. The way we did it as kids, was to put the pot right IN the coals, and put some coals on the top. We didn't have a tripod, except in our fireplace......

Hope to see you sometime soon.

Sadly, no. In addition to her not being well, I've taken a few things apart on the trailer for repair/upgrade so we cannot even camp in Dagny or the Argy right now anyway.

I hope to have all things ready to go by Spring. Wife included.

I have a few things for you, Gail. a few strings of Pumpkin lights, and a water inlet that I took off Dagny. When we camped in VT you had a difficult time with your inlet (I forget why now, but as soon as I removed mine I knew to save it for you). Hope to see you soon so I can give them to you.

Michelle- the Dutch Oven is the following weekend. Get you Dutch Ovens out and ready. Gail, join the fun........ it's not hard at all. Sweing by Cabela's and pick up a preseasoned oven on your way.

We're in

Chuck and I will be at Wompatuck. I think I will do the "cast iron" appetizer of fondue. Chuck will have to do the other cooking.

Whoops! I wanted Pam's quote: "Less work, more me". That should be our motto!!

Saturday is Bob's birthday, so we will definately be there for your fondue appetizer, but don't know for sure about later!

Can we get a little excitement going??

Hi all--This rally starts ONE WEEK from today, and no one is talking about it......can we get some excitement going?

Do we have people who are planning to enter the dutch oven cooking contest? I am, if the second top that I ordered fits my Mother-in-law's old pot!! (First top just arrived last night, and it is too small.)

I have put together a "see and do" list for the area, and would be happy to email it to anyone who is interested. I lived for 21 years at 451 Main Street, (Jack Ass Park) in Hingham.

Anyone bringing bikes to ride the trails? I am.

Anyone bringing a canoe or kayaks? I am.

Okay, this is the best that I can do...........
