[QUOTE=pinktrailer;901945]Hi all--This rally starts ONE WEEK from today, and no one is talking about it......can we get some excitement going?

Do we have people who are planning to enter the dutch oven cooking contest?

Anyone bringing bikes to ride the trails? I am.

Anyone bringing a canoe or kayaks? I am.
[QUOTE]

Hey there Gail- We are brining two Dutch Ovens but will have to remove myself from entering the contest. I will make sure I bring my Kayak if you are. We are planning on being on the road by 1:00 Friday.

Hi Rick---I am just hoping to get more interest in your contest......

I will probably bring the canoe, not the kayak.

I will already be there, as I am going in a day early, so that I can visit friends.

Doesn't look like I'll be able to make it.

But, an ex-colleague and long-time Hingham resident tells me that the mountain bike trails there are "awesome". He rides there regularly.

We're going

We're going and we are planning on the Dutch Oven contest too. We are checking out recipes for the event.

I have also checked out a few places that interest me;

The Farmers Market, Saturday 10-2, Hingham Bathing Beach
The Old Ordinary, Museum if it's open, 34 Main St.
Talbots Surplus Outlet, Rte 3A

Gail, I would love to get a copy of your list.

Great to hear Churck's info about the trail system at Wompatuck. I am definately bringing my mountain bike. I think that I have decided not to bring a watercraft.....there just isn't enough time.

I am definately entering the contest....had a trial this weekend, to test my recipe, and it was delicious, but my fire was too hot!

Pam, I will email you my list in the morning.

I am so happy to hear folks getting excited about the Dutch oven Contest. I am currently looking for two judges. Anyone who has a good health care coverage is invited to be a judge.

Looks as if we are in for the most perfect fall weekend. Trees showing their final caolors, cool nights and warmer days. Looking forward to see you all.

Ditto....

Leon and I will be bringing one of the unit coffee pots, coffee, sugar and half & half. No unit tent as this is not a formal event. We will be bringing our EZ-UP and and I think a couple of other members will have theirs available for us too. DONT FORGET: Rick is holding a dutch oven cooking contest on Saturday. I could not be happier! The BEST pot luck meal I ever had with the NEU was when we held our first (in my memory anyway) dutch oven cook off a few years ago.

Fantastic weather and a great time had by all!!

What a success this past weekend's rally was........The weather could not have been more perfect, the dutch oven cookoff was a success, and the park was incredible. We did some fantastic mountain biking; but I wouldn't want to head out without a map, as we got a bit "turned around" even WITH a map. I sure would have loved some of the trails when I was a bit younger......I'm not quite into jumping stone walls!!!!

Anyone else get attacked by the deer ticks?

I had to spend two hours in the emergency room last night to have the head and pincers of the deer tick dug out of my back. They were all over my dogs too; I am still picking them out.

Massachusetts sure is alot worse than Vermont as far as the tick population goes........
