Nancy-

I think this is a great idea and it si something we probably don't do often enough! On Sunday everyone is in such a rush to dump and get on the road we often forget what our ground hosts had done for us in the weeks leading to the rally and while we are there. What a wonderful idea to actually say thank you to someone.

I just got back from a ride to check out the campground. It's about 15 miles from us...looks like a really nice grassy rally field from the road. They will not let any kind of motorcycle in the campground, no scooters, no Harley's ...NADA. The owner I take it came up to the front office in a dozer while I was chatting with the ladies and started letting me know the rules..Yikes..this guy means business..must of had a bad experience in the past.

The ladies at the front desk we super nice. They told me they had just got off the phone with you Yuki and are looking forward to all of us arriving!

I haven't had the "pleasure" yet to speak with the owner as I've only dealt with the ladies. The ladies told me the story of how the campground was "burned" a few times last year with camping clubs reserving the whole field of 29 spots but only ending up using 10 of them. At that time in the summer, I guess they were at peak season and had a waiting list of people who could have filled those extra safari field sites so he lost money.

When I reserved the field in August of 2006, they didn't have any rules yet as they hadn't gotten "burned" yet. They allowed me to reserve the field without committing to a head count. I only mention this now in the event others decide to use this campground in the future as he will be asking for a deposit and more of a headcount committment for future safari field rentals.

This will be the second time that I know of that the Airstream club has reserved his field so he will hopefully realize how wonderful we all are and how easy we are to work with!

Normally, check in is 3 PM...we can arrive anytime after noon.

Normally, check out is 1 PM...we can stay for the afternoon on Sunday, if we like.

When arriving, there is no need to "check in" at the office. Instead, you can proceed directly to the safari field. I'm shooting to arrive around noon time so hopefully I will be there first to greet everyone!

With regards to campfires, each site has a pit for a fire. I have asked the campground if we could have a single pit centrally located. They are investigating the feasibility of this for me. <fingers crossed>

P.S.
If you happen to meet up with any of the campground owners during the weekend, be sure to thank them! They have been extra nice and flexible for us!

Yippeee! I was planning on leaving here at 12 since I took the day off. I am happy to hear I do not have to wait until 3 to arrive. See you all there!!

We have a special guest polisher joining us at the rally who has volunteered to conduct the polishing demo so the polishing seminar is back on the list! Woohoo!

1) Riveting
2) Safety
3) Electric circuitry
4) Trailer interior design
5) Clearance light maintenance
6) Polishing

Only two days left!

It looks like we will have super weather for the weekend -- don't forget to pack the sunscreen!

The flamingos are are all packed away in my truck and are quite anxious to get out and join in the fun this weekend!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on Friday!

Please remember to feed and water them, more than two days in a box and they begin to wilt!

I'm looking for feedback from the rally attendees on the format/timing of the seminars. One thought I had was to schedule the seminars sequentially, one after another, rather than concurrently so that the seminar presenters & attendees have a chance to participate in each seminar and not miss anything. What do you guys think?

I like this idea, as I'm interested in all of the seminars.

Yes Chuck, we will be having the Mint Julip seminar prior to trying to repack your bearings seminar!

I do like the idea of running the seminars one after the other so we can all benefit from eachothers help.

That seems to be the consensus so we will go with that format. We can all discuss and figure out the timing and order of the seminars at the rally. I think it will be easier in person to figure it out than thru the forum or thru email at this point.

What a great idea for the happy hour. Dos Equis (sp?) Nachos and salsa, I might even make it a grilled fajita night and stay with the theme.

If you have room, please bring it. We have two confirmed bundles coming. I have not received a definite "yes" from Chuck yet, so I'm not sure yet if there is a third bundle or not. Thanks for asking!
