The Greater New Orleans Unit is once again hosting the National Mardi Gras Rally in New Orleans, LA . March 2-9, 2011 on the campus of the University of New Orleans (Lakefront arena). 7 nights parking (3 point hook ups). 6 wonderful New Orleans meals!, reserve seats for 10 parades, Enjoy our planned actiities at the New Orleans Cooking School, Riverboat lunch cruise, Mardi Gras World, Basin Street Station, & the D-Day Museum. There is so much to do and see in New Orleans! Come experience Mardi Gras the way the locals do!. The highlight of the Rally is our own Airstream Mardi Gras Costume Ball. The Krewe of Tin Cans is an event you don't want to miss!. Rally fee for 2 is $950.00, and if you have ever been to New Orleans during Mardi Gras...that's a GREAT Deal.

Anyone in Region 4 or there abouts interested in caravaning down? I don't have any positive plans except that my wife and I driving down from the Dayton Ohio area. Right now we're planning to stop somewhere around Bowling Green KY and perhaps use some courtesy parking or Wal-Mart, another stop near Montrgomery and then on to the event. We are not bound by that itinerary and could spend more time on a different route. We've only been to one National event (Swiss Festival 2009) and haven't done a caravan yet. Just retired so we are free (at last).
