Gotta ask....

So what actually happens when one is allowed to hold Leon's engraved pewter beer tankard?

Hello Cousin Andre'-
Sandi and I haven't even discussed if we are going or not. If anything I would rather bring the Safari if we decide to go. Will keep you informed.

One of my favorite NEU memories was happy hour in Andre and Susan's "Peanut". I think we had 13 humans in a 20' Argosy MH! I was using the portable toilet (that was camped out in the shower) as a seat, I placed my wine glass down on the permanent, indoor toilet seat and it slid right off and spilled (an entire glass!) on the new flooring that Andre had just installed. They were great about it and gave me a cloth to clean up my mess with. As I was cleaning I was able to inspect Andre's flooring work and I found it to be top notch.

Things to do

Thought I'd pass this along, comes from Toasty's new owner. They may stop by Saturday to meet everyone!

Ossipee Pine Barrens - March may be too early, but this is one of the last holdouts for the Whip-or-will (remember them? Great birds!) http://www.nature.org/wherewework/northamerica/states/newhampshire/preserves/art311.html?src=search

Madison Boulder - just because it's there.
http://www.newhampshire.com/state-parks/madison-boulder-natural-area.aspx

Green Mt Fire Tower - ~1.5mi hike, good views.
http://www.firelookout.org/towers/nh/green.htm

Saturday night auction (a few Saturdays per month) I haven't been for a few years, but these can be interesting.

Yep, we've done all of these things in this area and recommend them. I really like the Madison Boulder - it's a really BIG rock.

This is a great area, still somewhat rural, but with enough shopping, activities and restaurants to keep folks happy. We've owned our tiny vacation home in Center Ossipee, NH for 13+ years and even though we don't use it much due to our Airstreaming illness we have no plans to sell it because the area is great.

We'll see you all at the boulder! At least this time of year the bugs will be under control......

Talking Ok! Let's get this party rolling!

We will be heading up the Thursday before as I've got to clean the cobwebs out of our vacation home before we have guests. Also we need to bring the house heat up to an acceptable level. We heat only with wood so when we first get up there it is always sub-zero in the place.

Here's what's happening:
  • We will bring our fake fire for Friday and Saturday night.
  • I will be making popovers for our PJ and movie dinner night.
  • Not sure we will be bringing our snowmobiles (they are for sale. We just don't use them like we use to).
  • We will bring our snowshoes.
I LOVE the start of rally season, yipee! It's almost here.

We'll be taking our Snow shoes as well.
I heard a rumor the French Quarter may attend, weather and work load dependent.

Well this event is taking shape on line very nicely! I love planning these things on this forum.

We have arrival Friday for most- -How about we go to the Whittaker House for dinner and see Leon's mug?

Saturday-snowshoe and tubing TBA (we can talk about which one to do first over dinner).
Saturday Night-PJ Pot Luck Party followed by our favorite Movies (The Capetown to Cairo always seems to be the playing at this theater!)

Food: We have Caesar Salad-Popovers-Lasagna-Meatballs (I think Ann said something about this) Surprise Desert so far. Yummy!

You do not have to pack utensils as a well equiped kitchen in the big game room. Food can be re-heated or cooked on site in the game room kitchen.

Does anyone have some extra snowshoes I can borrow? We have only one pair as we are more cross country ski people.

Also Purity Springs is having their first Sled Dog Classic on this weekend. The link for this info is: kingpine.com/events

Also some people have asked to join us for the day or just dinner or both. All are welcome and invited! Just keep us posted so we can plan how many people we woman folk need to consider in our cooking preparations.

Robin
PS-Yes, I'm slowly recovering but still home in my pj's and VERY angry we missed the party! Bubbles is sulking too!

WINTER RIG OR RENT BULLETIN!!!!!!

1. Currently their are still 4 cabins available for rent.
2. If you plan to camp in your RIG call Sandy at the main office so they can be sure your site is plowed out for you! Bathrooms are heated and open year round.
3. Anyone who needs snowshoes if you let Sandy (at the campground office) know a day ahead of time she will have them at the office waiting for you to pick up and use. Cost will be $15.00 per day.
