You can do the Polar Bear Plunge by yourself, I will take pictures.
Looking forward to the campfires.

In the end when you boil down the ore and all the crap that goes with it, what remains is the gold. The gold is in the relationships.
Dacia & Paul, well said.
For me this is about camping with wonderful friends, good times, good memories, and making memories.
Rob & Zoe & family, we really wish you were going to join us.

Life Happens

and it's been hitting me pretty heavily lately.

I probably won't know until Christmas Eve if I can make it - if so - I'll just fill the fuel tanks and DRIVE.

Business has been just crazy since the recession hit, and I've been working more and enjoying it less. Getting even a day or two off has been a challenge. I'm SO overdue for a campfire I can barely believe it. I'm not making reservations, but if I can make it, I will. My contribution - hot toddies!

Paula

Must look for my Wassail recipe!

While walking through the slush on the streets of New York City, I am thinking, "This time next week we will be at Myrtle".
Can't wait!

Route to Myrtle Beach

Get off I-95 heading to Florence, SC onto hwy. 52 which will take you to hwy 301/76. When those 2 split, stay on 76 which will take you to 576 and into 501.

Stay on 501 until you reach Conway, SC. In Conway, turn right onto 544. 544 carries you straight to hwy 17 at the beach. When you come to the light at the intersection of 544 and 17, Ocean Lakes Campground is right in front of you.

Going thru Florence -- in town, but not bad flow, good roads. Short hop to open road.

Going thru Conway -- be patient, lots of traffic, roads in the central town area are not in the greatest of shape but doesn't last long. Great waterway view crossing the bridge. Watch the signs, don't turn to go to NORTH Myrtle Beach.

Good towing route and the most direct from the major interstates. Did it twice this year. Google maps is great to look at for this route. Clears it all up for you.

Have a great trip.

We are finally here!

Well, after a couple days of family, frozen water pipes, belly pan coming off, we finally made it to Myrtle Beach late last night (29th). We are on site 2208 beach front. It looks like the birthday dinner will be moved to New Years Eve.

It's a little windy, but not bad. It's still a far cry better than 2 feet of snow and 20 degree weather back home.

On full speed

Paul,

We've oriented our windmills towards Myrtle... reversed the motors to the "Blow" setting, turned them up to high speed... blowing you guys in the south some of this "Clipper" weather! Enjoy!
