My First Vintage Rally - Rockin Wally B Ranch
We signed up and attended our first vintage Airstream rally. What have I been missing! It was great fun! I'm a vintage Airstream enthusiasts and so was everyone there. Heck, one couple built their own Airstream from the ground up. Wow! The vintage trailers in attendance were lovingly restored or renovated to a high caliber. Some of the interior layout changes were very innovative.
More importantly, there were many "mixers" where we gather, meet like minded people and discuss our Airstream adventures. As we often say, you meet the nicest folks when traveling with an Airstream. I enjoyed everyone we met there. The Rocky Mountain Vintage Airstream Club is a fun loving bunch for sure. We even had some cattle in a corral close by to support the "out at the ranch" theme.
We had some rain showers that spotted up the trailers, and the temps were on the warm side of normal. The venue was Ridgway, Colorado, which is 20 miles from Ouray and the "million dollar highway" offering spectacular "free time" side trips. There were hot springs to sooth the aching body. Many say the southwest quadrant of Colorado offers the best scenery. Try it, you'll like it if you are not afraid of big drop offs and no guard rails.
