It appears the silent minority that the Prez wrote about recently was really the vocal majority and ramming down our throats this MOHO didn't work.

You're right. The abstentions were not part of the 6112 number mentioned.

Yes, it did sound like a warning. I don't think he is happy at all. Is his presidency over?

That was okay - as it was just house cleaning - when changing the constitution you have to change all to reflect the major motion - someone missed it and Paul picked up on it - so it really was not an amendment in the sence of amendments to get the original major motion passed.

He's right; it doesn't solve the problem. of course, if it had passed, that wouldn't have solved anything, either.

No, this was an idea that wouldn't ever solve the membership problem as it wouldn't be the same club, but I don't think he is referring to the problem of membership as much as he is referring to what they feel is the real problem: the present moho volunteer IBT doesn't know what to do now.

I'm new around here having just bought our first Airstream. To me, the Airstream is not unlike owning a BMW or an Apple product. From what I understand, Airstream sales are doing very well. Granted, Airstreams are in a unique nitch, just like Apple and BMW are. Both of those companies are doing well too. They don't need a huge percentage of the market to be profitable.

The problem I see its the club leadership we have. The products sells itself. Anyone pay any attention at all to Apple's iPhone introduction last night? And look how many Airstream owners are on this forum!

The leadership of this company needs to have a big powwow at Perry with those delegates that have growing membership ASAP and work on changing our current bylaws to meet the changing demographics of those buying Airstreams.

The ball is in our court now. Which makes this thread that much more vital: http://www.airforums.com/forums/f286...cci-33769.html

Okay so that was TWO big motions in two years to solve the declinging memberhip issue - everything comes in threes so what is the next brilliant idea to increase membership?

well they picked on the name, then they picked on the brand, next they will pick on the members...only two left footed stairclimbers allowed. Prerequisite show me your wallet...Mama needs some new bobbles. Price 'em out!

As carol said - last year was the big proposed name change - from WBCCI to something else - no need for details. An attempt to make it easier to market a brand that markets itself!

The big problem is how it is run - not to get new members but how to KEEP new members....

All in good time...

I predict that next year will be the name change again. They can rebound from this years defeat by saying we are an Airstream only club and can keep it that way by the change.
