Lansing visit Report
Managed to get to Lansing for the flea market - I only live 39 miles away!
Met Rich from Airstream Life and the New kid, who gave me a forums pin!
Picked up a couple of the ceiling fan/lamp shades for $1 each, so that in itself made the trip worthwhile. My son Chauncy, (8 years old) got a bunch of deals on various things, including a Toshiba laptop for $5!! The surprise is that it works fine - just needed a power cord. Most of the other stuff he picked up for a nominal fee or got for free because he's 'cute' (and probably reminded most of the folks of their grandkids). He spent a grand total of $7 and came away with armfuls of stuff. After the flea market, we drove over to the airport to have a look at the gathering of Airstreams - it took a while as we kept seeing parking lots full of Airstreams which weren't with the main gathering. The site at the airport was unbelievable - aluminum trailers everywhere! I'll probably never see as many in one place again, unless I join the WBCCI and start attending the annual rallies!
This is 5 shots compressed into 1 - hope it comes out OK.
We found our way to the 'Vintage' section and looked at some really nice old trailers - here's one that I really liked,
WeeWind and the tow vehicle was a correct era GMC truck!
There was another trailer from the 1940's - not sure of the model,
And a side view of the same trailer,
All in all, a great visit - everybody that we came accross was extremely friendly and more than willing to show us their trailer.
Nobody seemed to care that we were not WBCCI members (although a couple of folks did try to get me to sign up).
Chauncy was very impressed seeing all of the trailers - he's been Airstreaming since he was born eight years ago and never expected to see anything like this gathering!
