Count me in, too. Richard gave me the scoop, I'm considering joining the club.

Alright Mike. Be good to meet you finally. Welcome aboard. You'll see, we're a laidback bunch with not much formality and rules. Just good camping fun.
We've stayed there and thoroughly enjoyed the crater tour. It is wide open country and I remember the campground getting pretty windy when we were there. I don't recall that I-40 noise was that bad. I will have to check with Mrs. Silverback to see if we can make this one.

Hi Brad,
We sure would like to join you. We haven't joined FCU yet but will bring a check with us to the event. Mark us in and tell us what we need to do..
Mike and Sheri
Very kewl of you guys to join us. Add your name to the link listed above in post #17. Are you guys already members of the WBCCI?
I hope the wind behaves itself for the weekend. Wonder what the history is behind the name "Winslow"? Maybe it means wind's low or wind slow. Either one would be nice.
Brad

Sorry to tell you that the name of Winslow has no meaning of great interest.
Quote:
Winslow, which became a division point for the Santa Fe Railway, lies along Interstate 40 on the western border of Navajo County in the high plateau country of northeastern Arizona.
The community, at an elevation of 4,850 feet, lies in the Little Colorado River Valley (the river skirts the city's eastern edge) and is 58 miles east of Flagstaff. Famed Route 66 was the major east-west route through Winslow before I-40 replaced it.
The first settler, in 1880, was reputed to have been a hotel man who lived in and did business from a tent. Two years later, in January 1882, a U.S. Post Office was established. Incorporated in 1900, the town was said to have been named for Edward Winslow, a railroad company president.
OK, any other interested parties? I'm going to call today and have them reserve some spaces for us away from the freeway. Let me know, the more the merrier and the better the potluck.

Brad,
We hope to attend, but I won't know how well our trip is progressing for about 2 weeks. Then I'll have a better sense of how soon we can get back to the West. So, please put us down as a "likely" with say an 80% probability.
