We're about 3 weeks out from our Rally at Lena.
A check of Reserve America found 4 sites remaining in our group area of 114-130. Still time to reserve a site.
Dave has determined that the meals will have a common theme.
Friday night's meal will be strictly Appetizers Only. It seems that during happy hour the first night everyone grazes on the hor d'oeuvres and is full by dinner. Everyone bring plenty of snacks to pass. Try a new recipe or an old go-to item.
Additionally, Saturday's theme is Cast Iron.
Bring your cast iron dutch ovens, skillets, griddles and fry pans to cook up your favorite dishes for a Pot-Luck Saturday dinner. Post your thoughts and ideas for you main dish to avoid duplication.
See you soon,
Tom.

Well, we're about a week out from the June Rally. There's still a couple of spots left in the loop if you're planning to attend.
We'll be bringing mini meatball appetizers for Friday night. Might also bring a Mexican corn salsa dip.
Saturday we'll have Dutch Oven pork roast and pineapple upside down cake.
See you soon,
Tom

Looking forward to the onion cheese dip and crackers. What type of cheese do you use?
I will be bringing a few types of crackers for the black bean dip I will be making.. I also will be bringing my mini cocktail meatballs.
Working on my items for the dutch oven cooking. Tom has found a recipe for a pork roast in the dutch oven that sounds good. Also thinking of either a dump cake in the dutch oven or a pineapple up side down cake. Any thoughts ?

Hope you've enjoyed the long Memorial Day Weekend.
We're 3 days out from our June Meet. Weather appears to be fairly good with a slight chance of showers. There are about 10 confirmations for the Rally and there are still 3 spots remaining out of the 20 in the Hickory Hills Loop. If you'd like to drop in there should be a spot for you.
Friday"s appetizer dinner will be a continuation of the 5 PM Happy Hour, so remember to bring plenty of your favorite hor-d'eorves to pass.
Saturday is Cast Iron Cooking day. There will be a Mountain Man breakfast provided. Please bring something to share (fruit, coffee cake, etc.)
Around 6:30 pm: A group Dutch Oven dinner will be provided. We will be starting the preparation and cooking at 4:00 pm with dinner being served when ready. Remember Dutch Oven cooking isn't a “Set it and Forget it” process. We will also be cooking a Dutch oven dessert. Please bring a side dish to pass. Don’t forget to bring your own plate, cup, and utensils and beverage.
If you don't have any cast iron don't worry. In addition to the Dutch Ovens I'm bringing 4 pans/skillets from 12 to 6 inches. If you haven't cooked in Iron, would like to learn, or its been a while your welcome to grab one and give it a try.
See you soon,
Tom.
