WACCI radio
We loved WACCI radio too! Whenever we had time in our Bambi cabin we were tuned in.
How difficult was it, Richard? Do you think we can talk you into doing this again sometime?

Well, now that I am coherent following a full six hours of sleep, I have to thank everyone for helping which, when I think about it, is all who attended. Everyone there made rally hosting a real EVENT, gather than a chore.
And the BALD MOUNTAIN CAMPGROUND never thought twice about making adjustments if it meant accommodating rally attendees.
And the folks at ADAMS FAMILY FARM
And the PIE MAN
And the HARMONYVILLE STORE
And AIRSTREAM LIFE
And FAT FRANK'S - THE WURST PLACE in BELLOWS FALLS
And the WEATHER
And, And, And, And..........
As far as WACCI, yes. It will be going on the road, tweaked and adjusted along the way. It wasn't hard to do as I've had these particular units lying around for some time trying to find another use for them. I didn't think of it 'til five or six days before we left and had it in place in about one half hour, in a rainstorm, too! The "programming" took the most time and was thrown together quickly; next time I hope to do something a little more organized than a series of two-hour tape loops! The antenna could be a little more discreet as well, not exactly an officially sanctioned object sticking out of that flag holder!
While I'm thanking people, thank you Paulette for the use of your Halloween tape which added even more variety to the spooky weekend soundtrack! Earl had the idea of using the station at future rallies to air scheduling updates at regular intervals to include schedule changes so people could tune in at there rig, at their convenience, rather than having to run around and try to find folks, depend on word-of-mouth or trying to tape a note to their door in the rain.
This also helped me get some more stuff out of my room, although I doubt I can get this much junk and more into a Caravel:

Did you get a photo of "Vintage Thunder"?
Hey Richard,
Did you get a photo of Vintage Thunder too? I thought it was so very cool that the two trailers were attending the same rally!

No, because of my battery situation I was limited to the number of pics I could take. SOMEONE must have snapped a pic or two of V.T. in Vt.

Rally stats
I was just going over the rally numbers (gotta send in my post-rally report to the Wally bosses ) and thought others might be interested in some of the stats.
Final attendance: 57 adults, 21 children
Hayride attendance: 25 adults, 19 children
Breakdown of kids ages & genders:
under 3: 1
age 3-5: 7
age 6-12: 7
age 13+: 6
11 girls, 10 boys
# of rigs: 31 (30 in w/e sites, 1 w/o hookups)
4 AS Motorhomes, 9 AS trailers over 25', 18 AS trailers 25' and under
Members in attendance represented 4 of the Region 1 units: NEU, Charter Oak, Cape Cod, and WMNHU
6 in attendance were new members (didn't have their WBCCI numbers yet)
I don't have all the trailer years, but I would guess the rally was about 50% vintage(?).

Two of the MH were classics (80s) the other two were Cutters.
I think you are right Dougjamie, 1/2 were vintage rigs.
Airstream Life's "Tour of America" and Vintage Thunder were there.
And more cool info: We had a young Wally Club member who towed her own vintage Airstream to the rally - just 17 years old!

Welcome to the WBCCI New England Unit. We are thrilled that you folks decided to join our club!
I enjoyed meeting you folks and really loved your dogs (cool "headlights" they were wearing too).

Great Rally-
Here is a great photo of Sara Cipot, Emma Luhr and Donal Collimore who became instant friends and buddies at the Youth Rally. This is what it was all about!
