Friends of WDCU Buddy Rally
Friends of WDCU (Buddy Rally) at Trap Pond
The weekend of September 15th thru the18th we will be hosting this WDCU Buddy Rally at Trap Pond State Park in Delaware. We had a great time at this beautiful park last fall and we thought it would be fun to return and open up the the rally to any and all friends of the WDCU. We hope if you have been a past member or are thinking of becoming a member of the WDCU or you would just like to camp with a fun group of folks, you might consider joining us for a relaxing weekend together in this wonderful setting.
If you are planning on attending this rally you can make their reservations through the Delaware State Parks reservation site:
http://delawarestateparks.reserveamerica.com/
Choose your site in the "A" Loop or the "B" Loop side closest to the A Loop.
The cost is currently $24.00 per night. The campground rv sites are equipped with water and electric hookups and a dump station is located within the park.

Campground Fee
Correction on the Delaware state parks pricing of the sites.
In-state price is $24.00 per night.
Non-resident fee is $28.00 per night. (3 nights X $28.00 = 84.00)

While I'm finishing up work this weekend some of the WDCU group are having a good time at the Crabby Rally in Crisfield.
I'm taking off work for sure next month for this rally.
I've checked the Trap Pond reservations and we have 11 sites already booked.
If you haven't made your reservation you might want to think about it in the next few days.
Choose the "A" Loop or the "B" Loop sites closest to the "A" Loop.
Remember this is a buddy rally! We hope you can join us.

Rally Schedule
I just checked the reservation website and there are still a couple of nice sites left in the A Loop if you've been contemplating joining us for the rally.
I'll be there on the 15th along with Greg, Lori and Peg who will be arriving on Wednesday I believe.
It is going to be a rather relaxed atmosphere and everyone is has their choice of local entertainment. Anything from the local flea market to taking a short drive to the beach for some off-season touring.
The schedule will go something like this: (campfires, weather permitting)
Thursday: Early Arrivals
Happy Hour at 4:00pm
Dinner: an impromptu potluck for those who want to join in.
Evening Campfire
Friday: More Arrivals
Breakfast: continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, coffee, juice and the necessary accompaniments.
Happy Hour at 4:00pm
Dinner: Pot Luck – bring a dish to share.
Evening Campfire
Saturday
Breakfast: Fresh baked biscuits with sausage gravy, coffee, juice and cereal for the kids.
Happy hour at 4pm,
Dinner: Deep fried turkey, curly fries and bring your favorite side dish or dessert to share
Evening Campfire
Sunday:
Breakfast; Continental breakfast - English muffins, bagels, coffee, juice and the necessary accompaniments.

Did I see something about a rally fee? If so, how is it to be paid?

Yes RJ, there is a rally fee. $15.00 per unit.
It's to help defer the cost for the breakfast and dinner items
I'll be collecting it when folks arrive. It will be on the honor system.
With my schedule I didn't want to deal with collecting checks ahead of time.
Of course the only drawback is I'm going by the reservations on how many to expect. It looks like there are at least twelve signed up that I am sure of and another six I'm not sure of. I'll just plan for the larger number.
I hope you and Erica arrive before dark this year. It might be dicey parking that new rig amongst the trees in the dark.

Sounds like a plan, thanks!

We are coming during the day, but dicey is getting it into our driveway. So far, campgrounds are easy compared to that!

We just saw this Rally post by accident and were planning to camp next weekend. We've been to Trap Pond 2 times before and love it. We've reserved our site, A-34 at the end for us (John & Imelda and our 3 rastapoodles, Luella, Marlene and Chica). We'll bring a couple kayaks, as well. It's a great place for a paddle if the weather is great.
This will be our first Rally and we're looking forward to meeting all. We'll get there on Friday, hopefully, by lunch time.

Great! See you there. We're in A-24, probably get there mid-afternoon Friday.
On a related note, now that we have the trailer with a usable shower, I have to stop thinking about picking sites that are close to bathhouses.

Ok, I'm getting excited.
I haven't been camping since early July and I'm going stir crazy.
I don't think I'm going to be able to really concentrate at work for the next few days.
Looks like we're going to have a great turn-out for this one.
Three days and counting!

Ditto RJ!
I need a break. Once again, due to this thing called school, we will drive down in 2 vehicles. I will get there around 6:30PM.
If Jerry doesn't get the wake-up calls that he has been getting this week, hopefully he can be there early.
See you soon!

Hey Tom,
I have been checking our website for video clips! Please post something! Other than Peg and Lori's pictures on FB, I haven't seen anything else.
Thanks,
Sonia
