I would love to be there. When I retired last summer, I was offered a job flying Longbows in Arizona. Would have been too easy to make the trip but won't be able too most likely and I passed on the job anyway.
I will be close the week before as my wife decided we needed to go see George Straight in Las Vegas...oh boy. You guys tear it up down there and have a great time.

Incredibly nice

It is very nice of those venders to offer you prizes to hand out at your Rally.

Support the people that support you!

I'll start it by having Andy balance my running gear.

That sounds like a great Christmas present for your trailer.

IBT Agenda

I noticed that the IBT Agenda lists an item.

Four Corners Unit Approval.

I hope that bodes well.

I feel optimistic about it. We have 28 units signed up for our first rally. That shows a level of enthusiasum for our proposed "different" kind of unit.

Getting Oriented

Thought I would post a view of the group camping area so everyone could get an idea of what to expect. Just to the left of the gazebos is where we usually have a campfire.

Those guys over on the Can Opener rally make me sick. We need to start posting all kinds of stuff about we're going to be doing at our our rally.

There will be flyfishing and trail biking for starters. I'm sure we'll have a potluck, something completely over the top for central AZ.

Brad is correct. We need to talk this up a little.

I expect most people will arrive sometime on Friday. My wife is putting together an atitude adjustment (ok it's a happy) hour around 5 PM. Bring your favorite beverage and if you like a snack to share. Jan will be putting together some snacks, but more is better. She makes a mean artichoke dip!

I will be getting the fire going for the Friday night campfire tall tales event. That will last untill the last person drops. It won't be me!

Saturday afternoon will be open house time. Visit everyones trailer and get some ideas for yours.

Saturday evening (5PM) will be the pot luck. Bring what ever you want. I know other rallies like to make a list of who is bringing what, I like surprises! As the pot luck winds down I will start handing out the great gifts that have been donated by many of the vendors on the forum.

Some folks are bringing telescopes for sky viewing. This should be a real treat. It's a new moon and the viewing should be teriffic.

If you have anything else you would like to do, post it here. I bet someone else would like to do that as well.

Saturday night will be another campfire.

Some folks will be staying an extra day. If you do, we can have a pot over dinner Sunday night. It's a pot luck with left overs!

Everything is optional and the times between these events are very optional. I will bring a few fly rods and if anyone wants to try fly casting, we can do that. It sounds like a few folks will bring mountain bikes, I will try and fit mine into the truck. The park has a bunch of nice looking trails.

What would you like to do? Post it here. I bet others would like to do that as well.

OK, I'll keep this going. Here's the example of the placards for the trailers. These will be/are laminated in a 6" x 4" size and can be set up by the entry door of each trailer. Whacha think?

Dave, You must be getting close, all you needed a month ago was a few vents, windows and a floor.

Count me in...

... if there is still room!

Richard, I have forwarded my completed reservation form to you.

Count me in for the first rally! I wouldn't miss it.

BTW... what is a margarita ball?

BeBop,
Plenty of room! Glad you can make it.
I am not sure what a margarita ball is, but I will find out in 2 weeks at the NoCal 29 palms rally.

Brad,
This looks nice. You are a handy guy with Photoshop or whatever you are using.

What would you like to do?

We will likely bring our mtn bikes and looking through the telescopes sounds good. I have never tried fly fishing but maybe I should because NM is supposed to have very good fly fishing on the San Juan River.

Activities are nice but sometimes sleeping in is nice too! (I might park in the non-generator section)

It will be very curious to see the items contributed at the pot luck and happy hour. Much of the NM Unit 69 had been undistinguished in their contributions. I don't mean to sound snobbish but if you can afford an Airstream, why would you want to have a hot dog palette?
The artichoke dip sounds very encouraging already!
I could contribute a few bottles of our local wine and maybe a salmon.

your group camping area is getting mighty full...

how far is it from the hook up sites?

i see the 'day use area' on the map but not the group camp...

looks like lots of multi use trails (single track) near by...

cheers
