Segura?

Goin camping,
Did you mean Saguaro forest? Picacho Peak campgrounds are surrounded by them.

Hey now Ken. I can't spell it but I stop pronouncing the "g" when I hit the Az. border.

I reckon we will go for it now that we are full-fledged, licensed Arizonans. I think we better transfer our allegiance to the 4CU from the Northwest also.Just how do I go about doing that?
Have driven by the park a dozen times in the last year, but never stopped. Looking forward to the break in routine.
Cheers, Jeff

We now have the Quail group area

We officially have 15 units signed up and that was enough for me. I know it is a risk but it is much nicer (IMHO). Closer to the showers and real bathrooms, and looks much more level. Plus we will have power to the ramadas and a nice big fire pit. So yes bring wood. Of course it wouldn't hurt to have a few more people signup but we have plenty of room now too.
Thanks,
Ken

We are researching the possibility for me to get out of province health coverage for 10 days to see I can get it, what it would cost, and also if the doctor will sign off on it. If that happens we intend to hook up the trailer and head south from Dec 20th to Jan 3. We would do some sight-seeing around AZ and then hope to make it to Picacho Peak for Friday, Saturday and Sunday but will need to head out Monday morning for the trip home. Donna is still working so needs to be back to work for the 4th, and she doesn't yet have the driving stamina to do the trip one way in two days. It will take 3 for sure and that's with me doing short bits of it as I can. We'll use the truck rather than the '57 for this trip given the potential for snow etc. on the WA/OR component, and she's more comfortable using it for longer drives (and the gas mileage is noticeably better).

I do not expect to hear back from the insurance company until about November 15th, and then it will take a day to get it past my doctor. I'm pretty sure if the insurance folks say yes that he'll sign off on it.

How soon do you have to know - is confirming yes or no by mid November too late?

We'd really enjoy meeting everyone.

Thanks,
Barry

Barry,
It would be great to have you guys at the Rally. I think that mid-November is not too late at all for signing up for this event. I think Ken has booked a larger area with the hopes that more people will be adding their names to the list.

Thanks Richard. As soon as I can pull this together on my end I'll confirm if we can make it.

Take care,
Barry

Goin

Dang it - I'm at the doctors (I call him my vet) next Tuesday to get his much hoped for agreement that I can leave the province and get extended health coverage. Over the last two weeks I had two MRI's he said he would need. I did the blood work yesterday and requested the technician fudge the results if they weren't up to snuff - and to help that process along I took in a box of donuts for the crew at the clinic I frequent .

We REALLY want to make this. We want to meet all you folks, and we have the trailer and TV pretty much ready to go. Just hook them up, throw in the clothes (Parka's and snow shoes don't cut it there, right?) and we are outta here. The neighbor has agreed to cat sit, so we are ready.

I'll let you know as soon as I know. I'm not very patient at waiting - is this an age thing?

Barry

Going camping,
For the rally you pay the friendly ranger at the park entrance. I paid the group site deposit. I do encourage everyone to contribute to Kevbo for his retail therapy. That benefits the overall economy (at least feed stores and cowboy bars...).

Hello,
I am new to this forum and really have not navigated the site too well.

A few years back my mom gave me a 53 flying cloud see was in love with. She told me it was always her dream to pull the trailer around to airstream rallies. Recently my wife and I have fixed up the trailer to take to the Nascar race in Phoenix.
We live in Wellton, which is close to Picacho.
My Mom might be here around the time of the get togehter and I know she would be thrilled if we took her to the rally. We would love to attend if everything falls into place. Where do we sign up?

Thank you
Kanon

It would be great if you can make it.
