A few more pics...

Rosemary and I also extend our thanks to Linda and Ken for making this rally so enjoyable. Perhaps, Marley is even more thankful because the nighttime temperatures gave him his first chance to sleep under the covers.

The climb (aka hike) up Picacho Peak was memorable. In fact, I'm reminded of it each time I attempt to walk, climb a stair, sit, or stand up. Ouch, but in a good way!!!

Only one word describes the hikers as shown:

Intrepid!

Cold as heck here. I hope you had a good time. Snort.

Thank you

We had a blast hosting this rally. More pictures coming soon (today?). It was warm hiking but temps at night were in the 20s. On to Dead Horse 2!

Ken & Linda,
After leaving Picacho we spent a few days camping in the Mcdowell Regional Park. We just arrived home and RoseMary and I want to thank you for making our first rally with the 4CU a great experience. You immediately made us feel welcomed and we enjoyed meeting everyone. We are already making plans to attend the Dead Horse Rally in February.

I am attaching a few photos of the New Years Eve Campfire.

Thanks again,
Ray & RoseMary

Thanks for posting the camp fire pictures. That was one very hot fire! I am sure glad we had a professional (elfirebob) to supervise. It was the first time one of my copper pipes had started to melt. Did anyone get any pictures of the sparkler show at midnight?

More Photos

Thanks for posting the 'climbing the peak' & 'NY Eve campfire' photos, Mike and Ray!! They are great!

I posted Silverback's photos - they start here
http://www.airforums.com/photos/show...?i=17940&c=503
and go backwards!

I tried to make them go in the Photos section under Rally Photos because there are so many of them - not sure where they ended up, but I think they are there some place!

Great Photos. I was surprised to see how cold everyone looks though with parkas on. Us Northern folks figure if it is desert it is hot all the time the sun is up. What a neat place to end a year and start a new one. Sure wish we could have joined you and greatly appreciate the pictures.

Thanks for sharing

Barry

Great pictures Linda!

Barry - I just wanted you to know that you were not forgotten. Around the campfire on New Years Eve we toasted our friends who could not be with us at the rally...

Thanks for posting those pictures. The Mr. is a good photographer. They're great and show all us happy, cold campers. You were saluted a number of times Barry.

Thanks folks for remembering us. It's much appreciated. We were there in spirit.

We looked at each other while it rained and sleeted outside and Donna commented that she was really disappointed the trailer was still tucked away and not parked in the relative warmth of AZ for the Christmas break. When I showed her the pictures her only comment was "Wow, neat place, looks like fun. It's all your fault we weren't there you know".

We'll make it yet.

Take care,
Barry

It was freaking cold here and a few mornings it was -2 when we got up, and a wet cold to boot. We had rain, we had snow, we had a lot more rain, and we even saw the sun once for about two hours. Several days we had hours of no rain but heavy clouds and those were good days to head down to the beach and walk along the promenade.

It sounds like you guys had one heck of trip. We were sure jealous.

Barry
