Probably going to quiet on this thread for a few days as all of the posters are either romping through the balloon lift off area, partaking in the m-ball or sleeping it off. I'm sure things will heat back up once they all have a chance to recover.

Here are some pictures from Fri. caravan at Am. RV, the margarita & popcorn machines Fri. night then Balloons on Sat. We were parked just SW of the Balloon Museum for an easy walk onto the field. Notice the size of the crowd in the picture with the Stagecoach balloon.

Here are a couple more including the caravan from American RV/Camping World, sampling of balloons from mass ascension this AM, and the group after a potluck this evening.

I just heard on the news that a women there was killed when she was thrown out of a balloon basket...Here's the story.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The basket of a hot air balloon flying in the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta tipped after hitting power lines Monday, killing a woman who was thrown out of the basket, police said.
The unidentified woman and the pilot were believed to be the only people on board, state police spokesman Andrew Tingwall said.
The pilot was trying to land the balloon and had thrown out a tether line when the balloon began to rise again, striking nearby power lines and tipping the basket, Tingwall said. It was not clear if the landing was planned or an emergency.
The crash site is about three miles from the launch site for the fiesta, a nine-day event that began Saturday and features special-shaped balloons and competitions for balloon pilots.

Glad to report that none of our number were victims. But it sure put a damper on the celebratory nature of the festival.
