For the majority of the attendees, whom are arriving from the west, this RV park may be a convenient overnight stop and a place to dump and fill up before boondocking at the balloon field.
Ken J may be able to recommend a location convenient for eastern arrivals.
If we were organized, we could exchange cell phone numbers so we could coordinate the arrival time at the balloon field.
dearest victims,
i'm not speaking for the left coast California Streamers, however, we all plan on meeting and staying @ the Grant, NM KOA Thr Oct 4th. 888-562-5608 the night B4 and then caravaning in. let them know your w/ the FCU Balloooooon Rally.
most of you have met me, now you need to meet my friends. we have at least 6 rigs coming from the west that i know of, perhaps more (some things are kept from me, usually sharp, but you never know).
cell number exchange is a great idea. someone should make a list BACK CHANNEL and PM the list when we get closer to the time frame for the event. please don't post the numbers on the thread...
2air has valid points. someone should find out about K9's, as our group travels not only w/ dogs, but cats, horses and parrots as well. PLEASE don't provide beer to my horses... what a mess...
in re: to food; on the left coast we pride ourselves on each and every rig being different. for example i only consume free stuff, unless it's beer, then i'll eat anything, unless it confuses the beverages which might be free to some but always free to me. so... where was i? bring beer. oh and some empty (?) ice chests for lew, who is cool, but w/o proper beverage containment...
ken j only eats pbj sandwhiches, and regular coors, but has a soul mate who can cook. so i propose that ken j keep track of individual consumption, and leave the heavy lifting to a professional (like me or bam) and other professional soulmates, or soulmate who is looking to be souled up...
where was i?
i have a new rug for this event. Lebowski 9:30
and
i'm bringing corn toss, the hot honda generator setup, a table 'n chairs and if i can find it, my personality...
The good catering services are booked so we don't have that option avalible. We can still get a group reservation at the El Pino. Ken has been and said it has good food. Those who are intrested please indicate how many and we will reserve a table or two.

dear popped rivet,
i use FedEx. by 10:30am; ribs from kansas city, brisket from texas, salmon from alaska, crab from seattle, white corn on the cob from the central valley even imagination from the magic kingdom... sometimes things from the hood to keep my mind limber...
or
i'll call and have pizza delivered or chinese, or thai, but i'm knew to this...
Anybody? Bueller? This could be a deal breaker for us.
dear str8's, ms bam, goin campin all over the west, times, and whomever this may or may not concern;
i just read through 400 pages at the official site.
we are not camping in Fiesta Park. we are "Next To", or "Immediately adjacent to Fiesta Park". i've attached the official registration form. see below. we have the $65 a night spots... and on the attached PDF file, is a picture showing where we will be located...
my guess, and you must consider the source, is cats, K9's, parrots and rabbits are OK where were parked, but not in "Fiesta Park". i'll place the wild boar in the fridge to throw the feds off... i'd place him in the frezzzzer, but he's a hefty bugger...

Reason: providing good info is an art form and drives hits to the thread...
Darn...for a short moment TT (cat) thought she could take over the world...I mean... the rally, since there'll be no K9...I guess..she just has to reside back to her personal coach during the ballon lift off...
=^^=
P.S. you can never have enough animal friends...family...

Well the hounds think that is good news...but now I'm wondering if it may be a little crazy where we will be camping for canines (not to mention llamas and parrots). I've been to the Balloon Fest before but never camped there. Can someone who has camped there comment on the dog friendliness? Is there a place to walk the dogs? I do have an option to let them stay home (though they would be very disappointed).
that's exactly what i did before posting the question.
yes the 'vip' level says "immediately adjacent" to the park....
but we've also been told that the vip section we ultimately end up in...
will be decided WHEN we arrive...
MASSIVE SNIP //
thanks, 2air'
2air,
i agree, someone should call. however if you carefully look at the PDF file i posted above, the maps only show RV areas on dirt and off the Fiesta Park grounds.
however, again i'm a jar head, a phone call is prudent. i wouldn't wait for someone else for the info, please make the call and please post. after all the people on the other end of the line want us to attend... and we, the royal "we", need the info.
i'd call, but i'm trying to catch silverwinkie in total posts, which should take me at least twelve years of sitting here...
i called the balloon fiesta directly and talked to susan who is in charge of the RV areas.
direct quote "no dogs in fiesta park", "however dogs are welcome in the RV areas, just the usual rules, on a leash, and clean up after them".
to quote susan again "the RV parking is on dirt, is large, and dog friendly"; "we are RVer's ourselves, and it's never been a problem in the eight years i've been doing this".
if anyone wants to double and triple check what i've been told, please call the balloon festival for yourselves, on the 888 phone number posted in the visitors guide and speak to susan.
