Thought I would go down and see where Janice Joplin grew up in Port Arthur Texas and maybe catch a glimpse of that old Porsche of hers.......

Should have been on ALERT by the signs pointing to "Bridge City"

This little "detour" took me about 60 miles out of the way. Who the hell designs these foolish things anyway ?

This one even had a last minute "Chicken Out U-turn Lane" ( which I used ) Not that heavily travelled I suppose..... I swear I could almost see it blowin' in the breeze !

Jeesh......

As it turned out, the Joplin family museum was closed and from what I have read since coming home, her car isn't there now anyway, so I guess I didn't miss much. Did find one heck of a chinese buffet on my way out of town though ( and by the looks of things, a guy don't want to stop just anywhere around here )

I also checked out the Tabasco factory in LA on Avery Island.

My kind of place that Avery Isle, an island with NO bridges !

Sorry I missed you in PHX too. KT sends her best. Spent some time on McDowell Mtn. Nice place for you two for a little weekend get away. We'll catch you next time around, maybe on your way to Maine for Clams & Lobstah ? I know the back way........ no BSB ! (Big Scary Bridges)

We sure did enjoy meeting you all - glad to hear you trip went so well - great arial picture that one's a keep for me.

Please, don't forget me when next year's selection for Trailer Trash Queen comes up for vote...my ballot is committed to no-strapless, and that's as far as I have been compromised. One of the things you will notice, Ted, is that Scrap and Kevbo talk in code - we are still trying to decide if we should adopt it as the official 4cu language.

You can never overstep the membership bounds.....thats what makes the 4cu ummm "special"

You have to be careful - its just not any ol decoder ring - its a special FCU issue - it comes with the membership and you learn the secret handshake which is after you learn the official secret FCU jig
