While in the area, if time permits you may want to also check out the little town of Patagonia. I particularly like the Nature Conservancy Patagonia-Sonita Creek Preserve

so much to do so much to see.......

Kevbo, that's the good list....I'm still compiling it for you...
I'm finding however, that in Southern AZ just because they have a cow, pig, donkey, coyote, blow up Santa Claus (sun faded to a dull orange color) or some other creature on their roof....it doesn't always mean it's a feed store, local dive, or gun store. I think everybody puts these things on their roof down there.......So more work needs to be done....soon you will have your list....

are you going to make the trip?

Kevin: Is that "SF", San Fernando, I know you spent a little time in the SF Valley or San Francisco?

Speaking of San Fernando, how was the San Fernando Unit Rally?

Kitt peak observatory

I think Kitt Peak may be closer then Tubac. And is even cooler then wonderful Patagonia. I think there is a feed store in Patagonia.

"We were able to locate a reload for the M-Ball, and will bring it with us. Well almost a reload. The important part of the reload at least...1.75 L of Sauza/Hornitos 100% puro de aguave fire water..."

MR. Flycaster,

Shall we smuggle the other liquid part of the reload into AZ when we come?
How many mixes do we need for the Mball reloads? (ask Jan she knows)

I will drive the silver bullet very fast across the border while shooting my pistols in the air...they will think we are Kevbo and salute us

The M-Ball is filled with:
1.75 ltr of Jose Cuervo Especial (Tequilla)
(3) 1.75 Ltrs of Jose Cuervo Margarita Mix
Triple Sec for flavor
Sliced Limes.

With the smaller crowd at Tucson we may not need a refill. We are bringing a bottle of Tequilla, 4 bottles of mix (they come in 2 packs), Triple Sec and limes. I will let you and Jan put together what you think is best! We also have some sipping tequilla in the trailer for later.

Did anyone notice that I do not drink????

desert living....

With the current temperature and an early summer on its way everyone that attends this rally will appreciate this semi-remote location with 30 AMP electric! I have not found many campgrounds like this. The mornings in Tucson are wonderful the desert temps fall 30+ degrees at night so if you need your AC it will only be for an hour or two in the mid afternoon if temps get over 90. If you like bird watching, don't forget to bring your binoculars end of March is seasonal migration.

Rugs and Blocks

Things to bring....

The campsites at Gilbert Ray are pretty level, I used a few blocks on one side but that may have been the angle I parked. Most sites will not need leveling blocks but itís always a good idea to bring them.

Each site has a solid rock base. The rock is a little larger than some campgrounds that use crushed rock so if you don't already own an outdoor rug, or if you were planning on replacing your old rug, this rally would be a good excuse to break-in a new rug.

Just add music and an M-Ball and we'll cheer you on as you cut a rug on your new rug......

The good news is that the heat wave that hit the SouthWest this week is ending! It should be warm, but not hot. Daytime tempertures should be around 80. We are putting our list of things to bring together and it looks like this
  • Outdoor stove
  • Table and chairs
  • Bikes
  • Dogs
  • M-Ball
  • Folding Shade (10' X 10")
  • Fire Dancer
That plus the normal food and drink stuff. What did I forget???

I need to go to Tucson this week for work and will be going past the campground. If I remember to bring a camera, I'll snap a few shots of the area.
