Hi,
The rally is at the florida state fair grounds in Sarasota, Fl. It is exit 210 off I75 south of Tampa.
I don't know the actual address.

florida rally

we are signed up to go this year, we would hate to miss it.
they don't have this on the registration form, but, there is a special weekend rate of $85 if you can only attend from Friday on.
This is nice for folks that still have to work. Last year we got there friday later morning. It was a fun weekend, I agree the entertainment was a bit dated, but the company was good and everyone was very friendly.

It was fun being in a sea of airstreams.

Hi Ben,
I don't think it's 2 miles. Go west from the interstate and (I could be silly and say follow the silver trailers, but I won't) It's about 2 miles, give or take, on the left hand side. There is a big sign out front announcing the Sarasota fairgrounds. The first time I drove up after Terry, I had to stop and ask someone and every body seemed to know the airstreams were in town.
It's very easy to find.

Thanks Marie for the directions. We are really looking forward to attending. This will be our second big rally.

Does everyone have to vacate the fairgrounds on Sunday the 26th? Is it possible to stay until Monday morning?

Ben

We stayed the extra day last year - the fee was $10.00 and you had to move to the back lot - but when we tried to find someone to take our money - no one to be found - we plugged in but did not bother with the water.

There was a sign up sheet announced - but we could not find that either - so maybe we just have L's on our heads or it is hard to find anyone. Near the end when people are packing up to leave.

vintage open house?

I've never been to a rally before and would be travelling across the state from Vero Beach where we'll be on vacation. I'd love to see the vintage trailers and check out what everyone has done with them. I think I remember hearing something about a vintage open house...fact or fiction? Is there a scedule of events? Would coming out Saturday make sense? Sorry - no Safari this year!

You are in luck, the open house for vintage trailers is Saturday afternoon. This is in front of the fairgrounds in the parking lot between Ringling Blvd and Fruitville road.

Do I need to have a junction box or adapters to hook up to electric?

A pigtail would be good because with the angle of plugs in the multisocket box I couldn't fit my plug in after others were plugged in without using the adapter. I suppose that is not as clearly stated as that could be, but perhaps you can still get the gist of what I am trying to say.

You will need a 30 amp to 15 amp adapter, I will be bringing a few extra with me, just in case, but they won't last long. You will also need a full-diameter Y, or T for the fresh water connection, so you can have water. A bag of leveling blocks would be a good idea, too, as not all spots are competely level. Make sure your holding tanks are empty and your fresh water tank is full. An extra roll of toilet paper won't hurt, either...
There is a supermarket a couple of blocks from the fairgrounds, so it won't be the end of the world if you forget something.

Hi everyone,

It would be great to meet some of ya, and see some of the great rigs. I can swing by on Monday morning.

Will there be any one left/hung over then?

Michael

I am in C-8 about half way down. Only Argosy MH with orange lower rubrail, and 2 pink flamingos out front. I would like to see if we can do a get together on Saturday around 3:00. This will allow those with early dinner tickets to attend and be AFTER the vintage open house that runs from 1 to 3. Bring a chair, bring a snack and relax under my awning for a spell. I will have some snacks but not enough for all

BTW the vintage section is NOT at the front. Vintage is in the back east corner of the fairgrounds. Turn in BEFORE the big fairgrounds sign if you are heading west and go towards the back, you will see the Vintage units on the right!

See you here!

Photos

As has been done in the past, I will be running around snapping photos of everyone and their coaches Saturday afternoon for publication here. It is a great way to put faces to user handles, as well as see how much work has been accomplished since the previous rally. Since we only have dial-up, (read S-L-O-W), photos will be posted Sunday after we get home to broadband.
