The most important thing to remember is the cut needs to be a perfect 90 degree to the tube and that the cut end is free of any burrs, with polished even better. Seamless tubing is also a must.
One more suggestion - PRACTICE making the double flares. Get some extra tubing and practice. Several times, until you are comfortable with how the tool works and the results look good. It will save you a lot of pain if you louse up the end in the trailer after you have cut it to the right size.
Also, clean out any shavings from the cutting before you hook it up to your appliance if you (shudder) use a hacksaw instead of a tubing cutter - the preferred and highly recommended tool. If one does not come with the flair tool order one at the same time.

I checked with the campground owner (Did I mention how great she is..!)
A tent would be ok - but not cheap - in order to make it work we would need to at least double the size of the rally - which would be ok with me.
So for now I encourage you to put your name on the waiting list if you are interested in attending - I'll see how many we get and see if want to expand this rally and get a tent.
We also put a planning committee together, so I think the talent on the committee will put on a great rally, so stay tuned as we do some organizing.
A list of what everyone is bringing would be good so that we don' quadruple up. Of course with all renovation being done, double and triple up is fine!
I am going to post my list here. Not a very good one but you have to start somewhere.
I have also posted an attached file. I am hoping that it can be downloaded, added to, and reposted with your own reply. So that everyone can see at a glance, why don't you post what you are bringing in your online reply as well.
Shall we try it? Oh and if anyone has suggestions of what else I should put on my list for belly pan removal and insulation fixing go ahead and add it to the list with a note.
Here goes---
1) 25 syringes for vulkem
2) 2 tubes of vulkem
3) silicone remover
4) some aluminum for patches (small amount)
5) Small amount of Olympic Rivets
6) numerous rivets of different sizes (especially the ones with the big heads)
7) 1 or two large tarps
8) insulation
9) glue

This is a great idea - I will extract the info from here and summarize it. I've started a list of what everyone wants to accomplish and who we have teaching what -
We have a planning committee behind the scenes in the process of planning things - I think you will all be really pleased with what we are doing - I'll get another newsletter out next week and let you all know some of what we are up to.

Ken, I've missed a few posts, but what does this mean, like literally flying in to ABQ? People need rides from airport to the RV park, or are they renting cars? Tent camping or doubling up with friends? Just curious...
As I understand it so far, they are renting cars and staying in local hotels. Which I think is really great - my orginal vision was that this be a rally that you did not have to have a trailer for. Figuring that there are those who just purchased a trailer that was not towable, or thinking about buying a vintage trailer and want to know how they are put together.
Lewster is not signed up for this rally - he is signed up for the Balloon Fiesta
I,m still planning to bring a gaggle of S/M tools, including these below. Getting the Globetrotter roadworthy is still up in the air though.
