Gypsy - cool - belly pan work - - - - yes we will have room and tools and I'm sure a lot of opinions on the best approach to just about everything - Airstream and non Airstream... I've got to get my belly pan on too - so we may have two belly pans to work on - let me know if you need help finding material.
We will have two Bambis to work on - the other one needs some floor work.
Just a thought - we can make it a long weekend if folks want to work on trailers.
Ken J.
A long weekend would be great. I don't think I need material if we can get just a little to do some "patches" over some pitted or rubbed off spots where the pan hits the frame at the outside edges.
Maybe a list of supplies people can bring to help would be excellent!

Gypsy - the campground has a nice big room that holds 40-50 folks that we can congregate in and is where will do our slide show of a rebuild.
Our plan is see who is coming, what projects they want to see/complete, then at that point will put a list together of what to bring. In your case you will need to bring some aluminum for your belly. I know I'll need some ACX plywood for floor repairs (unless someone has easy access to marine - but I don't think its necessary) I know I need to bring my compressor, air hammer, my really cool air riveter (love to play with that one) and various other tools.
So let us know what you want to see or accomplish and we can start putting a list together...
I would offer up my 67 overlander for stripping and polishing. I do not have the buffers as of yet, but will plan on buying one by then. I am not yet a member, am local and will join FCU if I become a member of the Wally World.

Ken J. Do not need to work on our trailer but I am interested in learning. Carolyn has already said " you don't need another Airsream to fix-up!"
What tools/equipment would be of general use - air compressor (120V), air drill, air lines, extension cords (50, 100 Ft) power tools??? Not too far to haul from Lamy. Drop me a PM with what y'all might need.
Hi Joe,
I am in ABQ also and just polished a 1961 26' Overlander International last year. See picture.

thanks I don't see getting much done on the trailer this winter (my priority is skiing) so this rally should kick start things for me. I am wondering what to get supply wise...compound, buffer pads, towels, stripper.....
Joe,
Ken J has had more polishing experience than I have, so you could put your questions to him.
I got my supplies from the online catalog at Perfectpolish.com Catalog
I used Removall 220 as the stripper and Nuvite F7 as the polishing compound. One pound will almost do a badly oxidized 26'.
There is a lot of talk about the Cyclo polisher, but I went the cheap route with a 1/2" electric drill and the Compounding Kit 2) Compounding Pads, (1) Backing Plate, (1) Pad Cleaner
After about 60 hours of mindless work, I decided the finish was good enough for me. Purists will redo the entire trailer with a finer grade polish. It all depends on how much of a perfectionist you are.
