I didn't COMMIT to a dish.. I was just thinking out loud. Then I figured it's too much trouble to cook up 8 legs.. and not enought to go around, anyway...plus I'd have no time to camp.

SO Gary thinks we'll bring tacos with extra fiixings.. especially if I'm lucky enough to have Chef Eric do my chopping.

I want to SIT.

Also...

We're gong to Green Bay today to look at the Toyo Truck/Camper.. I am thinking I may wear my Chicago Bears jsersy.. It's Bears/Green Bay soon, isn't it?

Wish me luck.. both that I don't get shot by a Packer fan, and that the truck will be a good find.. I've wanted one since they came out in the 70s.

This one sounds like a live one, coming from a family who used it and the story they have told me about why they are selling....... but I don't have my hopes too high.

I'm afraid it'll be like the Airstream hunting expedition we took with Tom and Sue..... where we met a scary mountain men who kept a life size naked Barbie dolls in his front yard. But that's a story for the campfire.....

oops.. football

No Bears shirt for me today.. Bears/Packers THIS Sunday.. too close to pull the lion's tail.

Might put a kibosh on a potential price-haggling conversation.

Cr-ap

No GO on the truck.. the people didn't bother to mention that the odometer had been purposelfully disengaged at 150K, which was at LEAST 300k ago.
Nor did they say that she leaks oil by the quart.

Funny thing.. my Mapquest told me to turn at CR-AP... and it WAS :-(

Hoping to make the fall rally this time around (especially since we always have a conflict for the summer one). The calender looks clear right now, but I've learned anything can change at any time! Presuming we'll be there I'll bring some apple pie for dessert and commit to a dinner dish soon. John has plenty of firewood to bring. We haven't made a rally in 2 years and probably only had the camper out two or three times in that time span so we are way overdue for this.

Looking forward to seeing everyone,

Kristin

P.S. Sorry to hear the truck was junk Rachelle

I know Sue will bring something in enough quantity to feed an Italian family reunion.
I thought I would whip up a pot of Cincinnati Chili with the fixin’s.
Unlike tarantula soufflé, the main ingredient isn’t a Cincinnati native. However if I could locate my ex wife………

Tom.

The basic mixture is ground beef and pork in a tomato base with chili powder, various spices and cocoa.
This is served over spaghetti or elbows upon which you add beans, onions, cheese and whatever else may strike your fancy.
This is close.
http://whatscookingamerica.net/Beef/CincinnatiChili.htm Not too hot unless you "Kick it up a notch."

Chili 5-way

well that is exactly what I order EVERY time at Steak & Shake.. they call it Chili 5-way. It's pretty spicy.. and YUMMY.

I don't eat a lot of meat, so pasta is usually my choice, and I've never had a Steak & Shake burger or anything else, just the Chili 5-way. YUM

You have a GOOD IDEA for a fall meal!

I vote for elbow mac over spaghetti.. I can eat more, faster :-)

Ok Rachelle, elbow macs it is. Sue is still thinking about what she will be bringing as her dish to pass. Whatever she decides I am sure it will be a good deal of food.

A few more projects and we will be ready to go,not that we will be ever done fixing an Airstream.

Sue has stated that we might have as many as 10 trailers at this rally, she was talking to many of our Airstreamers on Thursday night.

See everyone soon.

i owe i owe so off to work i go

NICE to see you at the flea market today, Tom and Sue! We just this minute got home (actually about 20 minutes ago, and it's 8:30 p.m...) we came home via my TomTom and it took us through Mundelein and to I-90.
So we;ve worked today from 5 a.m. till now.. and back at it tomorrow!

This afternoon got crazy busy and we had to load more from the shop for tomorrow.

I'm ready to go camping!

Who wants a skeleton flamingo???

We'll be getting in another bunch of SkellieMingos.. black flamingos with glow-in-the-dark accents... they are a HOOT! Their legs are grey.

We sell them through the shop and at flea markets.

One for 7.00 and two for lucky 13.00

We also have pink, but they're not as KEWL.

Let me know if you're interested.
