Laconia Motorcycle Week - The Official Site
They are everywhere.....but Laconia is fender to fender and to be avoided. Conway is busy and a dealership is sponsoring "Rally in the Valley" on Friday at a location nearby the campground. Hopefully far enough away not to listen to altered mufflers. Be careful as they stop for no apparent reason in the road. Sometimes it could be a beer sign, a shiny reflection or a barbeque stand.
Fill up with gas far away from areas mentioned. They seem to enjoy stopping en mass and filling one gallon at a time and spend twenty minutes inside buying lottery tickets and Slim Jims.
Cool.

Route 16 should be clear. there will be motorcycles but not a problem. Into Conway there may be signs of the "other" rally. Laconia, Weird beach and parts west are the worst. Gas stations are more difficult to deal with as mentioned before.

Thanks for the info. I checked the link, and I now realize that "motorcycle week" is all this week. I guess that I will have to go across the Kank (as long as my brakes are working okay), unless I want to go way north, and then head south. Oh well.....traffic will probably be terrible going across the Kank, but maybe better than going through Laconia.
The only thing good about gas stops around that area is people watching. When I passed through two years ago, it was hard not to stare at some of the outfits (or maybe I should say "non-outfits")!!

Thanks for the heads up about bike week. Heading out around 10:30 tomorrow a.m.
Suppose to bring up the kayaks but not sure with the way the weather looks. Keeping our fingers crossed for some sunshine.....

I had a procedure that precludes me from lifting/walking/standing/sitting. Allie is not feeling well either.

I look forward to seeing your new bike. I was going to show my Airstream bike this weekend and debut Boy's Airstream bike. Like you say though ... next time.

"Airstream" bikes? do tell...
better be careful, or the factory will come after you for copyright infringement.

Mine:
And Boy's (not quite done yet in this photo):
Copyright shouldn't be an issue. Official Airstream stickers were purchased.

I wish we could make it. We stayed at the Saco Campground two years ago and I love that area! Have a great time everyone!

Despite the rain yesterday, we are having a great time at the Saco River Campground in North Conway, NH. It is "Laconia Bike Week" this week so there are lots of bikes with motors on the road.
Brian and I came up earlier in the week so that we could take advantage of the good weather for riding our motorcycle. I towed our Bambi II up while Brian followed behind on the motorcycle. The rain finally stopped yesterday afternoon and it is clear this morning -- perfect weather for another motorcycle ride!
Later this afternoon, we will be participating in the vintage trailer open house. This is my favorite part of a vintage rally because we get to see the work others have done to their vintage trailers.
Additionally, we have been out geocaching every day this week and we scored our record highest number of caches in one day at 35! This area is saturated with caches so we are finding them everywhere we turn!

Glad to see everyone is still up partying! Unfortunately, we couldn't make it either this weekend. Glad everyone is having a great time!
