We are getting closer to the rally everyday. Any questions?

What to bring?
  • Firewood
  • Chairs for around the campfire
  • Chili for Friday night's dump
  • Pot luck item for Saturday night
  • $30 (cash would be best) so I can pay for Friday & Saturday night's camping and to cover some other expenses. Sunday night will be another $12 which you will need to pay to the park
  • Wrapped gift for the white elephant gift exchange
  • Side dish for the Sunday morning breakfast
Sunday night we have traditionally invaded the Town Tavern for dinner, but I was advised by the bar manager not to try it this year. 20 or 30 people looking for a table on Valentines Day would be a big mistake. Sunday night we be left over luck, an opportunity to finish off what did not get eaten on Saturday night. A few of us will also be doing some dutch oven cooking and you are invited to bring your dutch oven and join in. It will be a chance for everyone to see how easy it is and hopefully how good it turns out!

Thumbs up v'day plans

since we live local we have experienced the v'day madness trying to eat out so it is a good call to avoid them. the plan you pose sounds very cool as an alternative. we'll just keep the campfire going.

Now that's a good question as I was wondering the same thing. Richard?

The ranger station opens at 8:00. We will be up there on Thursday and historically there have been several others.

Te he last three times, early(by a day) and/or late by a day after(last year, two days after) was allowed, as long as no conflicting schedule for the group area occurred...of course, you have to pay the same rate for the extra days, but the folks at the ranger station are really accommodating...we have been early and stayed late...well, except for that time when the entry drive got moved and no one told me...

i know you can get in and out of the park at any time but they do put a chain up at entrance to the group area when not in use. when we do arrive if ranger office open do we pay them anything or just tell them we are with the group and just turn the money over to you richard.

They keep the gate half open to the group site all the time. If you are arriving a day early, you will need to take care of that with the rangers. Friday and Saturday will be covered with the money you give me. Tell the person at the gate that you are part of the Airstream Group. This is the 4th year for us and they know who we are. I was just at the park a few weeks ago and they were very happy to see us again.
