My bad. Went by the park yesterday 15th. Seems like a lot of trouble for a one day closing. Didn't mean to pass out bad info. Thanks Eubank.

No prob! When word leaked out in December that they were thinking about closing the whole system, the members of the NM Assn of RV Parks lobbied the governor to avoid this at all costs. Since then, we've joined up with a couple of the friends of state parks groups to watch ongoing and upcoming proceedings. I just hope that some local yokel NM state representive doesn't come up with the idea again for the upcoming session.

Well, drat, Rodney! I wish you could go!

We're still planning on going. So far, the snow cover hasn't been anything like it was in the previous three years, so we're actually able to drive into the park and get around. Even so, we parked the AS way up at the front of the park to make sure that some freak storm doesn't cut us off again.

Arrrgggg treasure....

What sorta tools do we need for said treasure? Compass? Sextant? Telescope? Pick? Shovel?

Will be lookn for the perfect white elephant gift. Rest easy mates, the anatomically correct toothbrushes have walked the plank.

Jan and I just returned home from Dead Horse. Louis and Sergio were there to help us put the map together. The people in the hunt will be going to Old Town Cottonwood with a clue that will take them to a business. At that business they will find a clue to the next.

We have lined up some very interesting places to visit. Each team that finds all of the clues will get to play one hand of Texas Hold'em to determine who wins the treasure.

Old Town Cottonwood has many great places to visit and this game should give you a good taste of the places to see and visit when in the area.

With the current storm(s) hitting Arizona, the following is posted at the parks website:

Quote:
Park is Under a Flood Watch

Dead Horse Ranch State Park is under a flood watch. If there's no damage to the 10th Street bridge from the flood event that's predicted to hit midnight on Friday night the park will be open for business Saturday. More details will be posted here.
The rally is 3 weeks away and there should be no proiblem for us, but I will keep an eye on this.

Shiver me timbers or shiver me rivets? Michael that's a great pirate graphic! Add that to the pirate images of Dead Horse. Did you do rally shirts this time, was that it?
