Have a great rally! Here's to hoping for temps up to 70*... possible?

we enjoy the friendship

we have really had fun at the two rallies this year with the 4CU....we started the year cold and wet at Picacho...went on to travels in Az and Calif and had beautiful, pleasant weather and now end our travels in Az...wet and cold, except for the warmness of the friends we are beginning to enjoy with this club....we bid you farewell and most likely not see you again until New Years eve once again......

thank you and via con dios.....

What a hoot. They always are. Some new faces, a lot of familiar ones, and at least no one was trying to save face. The singing doll should not be described but will hopefully reappear in the future.

A little snow clearing verde pass but a good trip home. Jan and Richard throw a hell of a rally. Thanks again to all.

In spite of poor weather (it rained practically all day Saturday) Jan and Richard hosted another great rally. Hats off to them for doing such a a great job under difficult circumstances. Saw lots of old friends and made a few new ones.

RichardandJan, thank you for continuing a tradition for the history of our Unit...had the hat, but the folks in the plazas wouldn't throw enough cash in it...mighta been because NO ONE was in the plazas while it was snowing, except for...well, I can be excused for any behavior...well, I COULD claim ignorance, but then I couldn't claim stupidity...be nice, now...m

It's the last morning for most of us. The sun is about to rise and it is a brisk 28 degrees outside. We had a great evening last night and we took care of the remaining wood from the pile.

It's pack up and hit the road today and start planning DH6!

What a blast!
Each DH gets better than the last and I never think that is possible. Richard and Jan put on an awesome event and we thank you for your efforts. So, what's the theme for next year?

BTW - be careful driving back down to the valley. The top of the hill above Camp Verde was slushy and a bunch of cars were in the ditch. It was snowing when I went through there yesterday late morning/early afternoon. Highway patrol, wreckers and a snow plow were about and traffic was moving about 20 mph. Please be careful.

OK, tell me about this pretty good fishing. I was going to go but with the low front coming in, I figured it wasn't going to be any good.

Just pulled into home and the drive was a breeze but the rally was a blast! Met lots of new friends and finally put some faces to the usernames and avatars. Can't wait to see you all again at the lake pleasant rally in April. Just look for the hopefully fully polished overlander, now where did I leave that cyclo... It never ends...

went to the lagoon on friday. recently stocked with rainbow trout that were destined to another lake but that lake ph was not suitable so they dumped them at dh. caught 3 myself and 2 given to me by a wonderful fly fisherman using his homemade dough bait. that was plenty to eat for two and share with others. weather too bad on the rest of the days for my liking.

Jan and I arrived home safe and sound. We made a stop at Hog Wild to let them know that the meal on Saturday night was great. We also picked up some garlic fries for the road. Traffic was light and the road was clear.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this a great weekend, we could not have done it without your help.

We have the site reserved for DH6 and the park has promised better weather next year. We are still working on next years theme and are open to any and all suggestions.

Thanks again!

Glad to hear that everyone arrived home safe. We left early on Sunday AM and when we started up the mountain towards home we thought that we were back in upstate NY. It was slow going because of snow on the slick highway. It was the first time I drove up this hill in 4 wheel drive. A number of cars were being pushed and were slipping and sliding. The Titian did well and pulled Lithoplate up to the top without any problem.

RoseMary and I had a great time despite the weather, and are looking forward to seeing everyone in April at Lake Pleasant.

Thanks to Jan & Richards for another very successful and fun rally.
