People will be able to come into the site early. Jan and I are planning to arrive mid day on Thursday and do some setting up that afternoon. I believe the per night rate is $15 per night paid at the rangers station when you arrive.
Thanks to everyone who has offered to help.

I suspect we will also be there Thursday given it is the last stop for us before heading home. We're available to do whatever needs doing.

There are several RV shops in Cottonwood and the surrounding towns. I have no experience with any of them, so I do not have any recommendation. There are a few members signed up for the rally that live in the area and may be able to help you out.
Plan B would be to leave your trailer winterized. The loop has rest rooms with showers and there are several water spouts in the loop as well.

Tamara and I are not dewinterizing. the showers are great and there is a sink with hot water in the back of the comfort station for washing the dishes. you can still use the potty with available water and then dump on the way out. We have been doing this since deadhorse one

I doubt it. The DH rally isn't until the weekend of 18 Feb.

OK, finally got my act together, checked the rally dates and got us signed up. With any luck the check might even get there before we do, that is of course if I mail it
We need to trip and the break, hope to see you all there.

We are only a couple of weeks away and it looks like we are going to have a great crowd again this year. We have a few last minute sign up which will put us at 28 Airstreams! If there is anyone else interested, drop me a line ASAP. We will be posting a tentative list of activities in a couple of days. If you have been to Dead Horse before, you know what the parking arrangement is; find a spot and park. The first spots as you enter are best for the bigger rigs and there are a few spots around the back curve which are perfect for the smaller trailers. We will be filling up all the paved spots, but there are plenty of spots on the gravel between the pavement for the rest. All the spots are level and you can fill up your water tank at one of the several spigots located near the Ramada. If you get there before we do on Thursday, please leave the last spot on the loop for Jan and I again this year. Every spot is close to the Ramada which is the central site for all of the meals and fun.
Don't forget the gift(s) for the white elephant exchange on Saturday night and please bring a little firewood if you can. If you forget something, you can get it in Cottonwood. They have a Safeway (with Starbucks), Wall-mart, Home Depot, several banks and a lot more.
It's too early to tell what the weather will be like, but last week it was in the upper 60s during the day and mid 40s at night. There is a cold front going through this week, but next week looks like warm and sunny again.
Jan and I will be in Cottonwood Friday to start making final preparations with the park and a few other things.

Jan and I spent the day in Cottonwood yesterday making sure everything was set for the rally. The weather was a wonderful 62 degrees with the sun shinning and you could see a little snow on the top of Mingus Mountain. We also visited a few of the antique shops in Old Town Cottonwood before having lunch at the town tavern. I hope that everyone at the rally has an opportunity to visit old town and take a walk down main street. There are a few new wine shops on Main Street and wines from the Verde Valley are becoming a bit hit. Look for the "Painted Barrels" as you travel in the area. More information can be found here: Verde Valley Wine Trail located between Sedona, Jerome, Cottonwood
One of the owners of "A Checkered Past" remembered the pirate invasion last year and is looking forward to seeing all the cowboys this year. We also stopped at "Papillon Antiques" where we saw a nice set of Pink Flamingo trays for sale. The also still have the treasure chest from last year and are using it as a potpourri holder.

More great news...
We will be having a special guest on Saturday and maybe Sunday as well. Dale "Peewee" Schwamborn and his wife Susan will be making the long drive over to the park to visit with us at the rally.

This is going to be a GREAT rally!!! I'm curious what the maximum number of trailers we can have on this loop. We're nearing 30 now, right?

The website for the park states that the max is 46 units, but that is not a realistic number. One of the previous DH rallies had 36 and we still had room for a few more. I have had a few additions since my last update and not all of the attendees are listed on the calendar. The current count is 32 trailers at the loop.
Parking between the paved spots on the gravel still leaves enough room for awnings if you want. The picture below is from DH4 and it shows the spaces. The trailer with the red Tacoma belongs to Terry and Greg. There is a trailer parked on the gravel and an open gravel area on the other side.
Parking the smaller trailers in the smaller spaces and saving the larger spaces for the larger trailers will make parking a lot easier for everyone. Jan and I will be there to give you a hand.
The picture also shows how close everyone will be located to the Ramada and fire ring. One of the water spigots is also in the picture.

It is warming up. Glad to hear the weather is breaking up there as well. Will be having the dodger checked out tomorrow for the trip. If I remember right, flamingos were a particularly popular item for the white elephant. Maybe we'll try chickens just to be different.
Thanks for the hard work on scouting.
