Well, we've done Home Depot for scraps, Wally-World for wood, and a couple of scoped construction sites for whatever...if you can get it cheap in the big town, go for it...if it burns, it's pretty much full game...

I have had several people tell me that they are bringing wood. Sounds like we might be ok, more would be better. I'll stop by my wood guy next weekend and get a bundle.

Since the rally is fixin' to begin, and since I was just working on a pic from above Jerome down into the valley, I figured I'd post this shot for folks who've never been there before. (Alas, we're still too snowed in to consider coming out for the rally. )

Richard:

I've got the TV about loaded with wood and general items. As soon as I finish loading the generator, propane for the Fire starter and gas for the generator I will stack on some more wood in the vacant spots.
Weather is looking good.
See you on the 12th.

Sounds like we have many people bringing wood, we should be fine. We do like big fires on cool nights!

Hey Richard, got any special ways for tieing hooks? It's been over 30 years since I have been fishing and I want to do it right so I don't look foolish in front of the kids.

I have a couple of logs that departing neighbors left me...took me 2 nights to burn one...I'll also hit Home Depot for their scratch pile...may tear down a duplex or two...

My experience with kids has taught me that the only way you can really look foolish to them is if you DON"T try to look foolish...they're pretty smart puppies...learn together...

There are more knots then fish. I like to keep it simple with a basic clinch knot. Clinch Knot

Amen to that, but I do keep them entertained.

Thanks Richard, that does look like something I can do without hooking my ear. Can't wait to get to Dead Horse and get started.

We're leaving home on Thurs.

Debating whether or not to boondock Thurs. night or staying at Deadhorse.

Anyone else in a similar position?

I believe there are a few of us that will be rolling in to DH3 about noon or thereabouts on the 12th. If you get there early and don't want to boondock there are some sites across the road that have electric and water. Looking forward to seeing everybody again and meet some new A/S folks.

We're planning to be there Thursday as well...probably mid afternoon. Looking forward to see y'all again...and also those whom we've not had the pleasure of meeting yet!

Lynn,

That photo you posted is gorgeous.

Thank you for sharing that for those of us trapped somewhere else.

For those of you making the trek safe and happy trails.
