I want to know how many are bringing a spam appetizer? Turkey, bacon, lite or regular spam?

Thanks, Lou

Many, many, many years ago my older sister, her hubby and I started a coffee truck business. Industrial catering to a ton of businesses around town. Everything from meat packing plants to construction sites to office buildings. We had a lot of trucks. The most popular sandwich by a huge margin was a mixture of Spam, lots of relish, mayonnaise and a pickle on top of two slices of thick white bread. That sandwich outsold all the other real meats by a significant margin and they were always the first to run out and people would then be forced to take a roast beef or ham sandwich. On the hot sandwich side we'd do a toasted Spam version of the above but put a piece of cheese on it before it went into the steamer. Those were pretty popular on cold days.

Being a vegetarian I never quite understood the attraction.

From Silver City, NM

Howdy 4CU band...I have a spam fried rice recipe I have not prepped in a few years but hey, for you guys...
The spam-guacamole did not make the cut.
We're in Silver City, New Mexico taking in the sights, what an enchanting place. We'll be at Picacco on the way back home manana.
If my work schedule has cleared up, I may get up to Dead Horse for a fly fishing lesson!
Ya'll stay good. From the four corners discovery troupe,
Bob 'n Nanc-

3 weeks to go. Time is flying and we can't wait. I have 27 Airstreams signed up and paid, 3 or 4 more checks that are "in the mail", a few maybes and a pancake cook to park some where. It looks like we will have a few more then the 30 I had set the limit for, so parking will be a little tight, but it should not be an issue. There are around 25 paved sites and then there are the gravel areas between the paved sites. they are all good and they are all level. Jan and I will be arriving Thursday to do some decorating. If anyone arrives before we do, please leave the area in the blue open for us. Please note on the map where to turn into the area. If you are wondering about the "Mike don't turn here" comment, ask Mike!

Dead Horse Trivia

How Dead Horse Ranch Got Its Name
The story of the park's name begins with the Ireys family, who came to Arizona from Minnesota looking for a ranch to buy in the late 1940s. At one of the ranches they discovered a large dead horse lying by the road. After two days of viewing ranches, Dad Ireys asked the kids which ranch they liked the best. The kids said, “the one with the dead horse, Dad!” The Ireys family chose the name Dead Horse Ranch and later, in 1973, when Arizona State Parks acquired the park, the Ireys made retaining the name a condition of sale.

**From the AZ State Park website...

Just in case you didn't think that the SPAM contest is legit, here is what the winner will be walking away with. It's SPAMMY, a limited edition hand painted bobble head doll.
