Mike - and they are saying that there will be more s**w on the way Thursday-Friday. Heavy snow for the Northern mountains of NM.

Richard, what are the AZ weather guessers saying about the Flagstaff area Thur. or Fri?

Flag should have some snow flurries on Thursday and be very cold. Friday should be clear and not as cold.

They keep the major roads clear so if you stay on I-40 and I-17 you should have no problems.

Thanks. Just need to see what they say about the Grants-Gallup section of I-40. Leaving either Wed. PM or early on Thursday. See y'all in Dead Horse.

Traveling weather

Weather for Thursday looks a little iffy. My route would usually be I-40 west to Flagstaff. The news was saying a major snow storm is possible especially north. I-40 looks like it might be a dividing line. NOAA website says snow is possible for the Flagstaff area Thursday (no local forecast for Sedona or Cottonwood). Don't know how this may affect my travel plans yet. The forecast should be more definite Wednesday, but it looks like a storm rather than flurries are a definite possiblility.

Us 60/ Az 260 ??

Thinking about alternative routes, especially if it snows along the I-40 corridor. US 60 to AZ 260 right to Cottonwood. I think this crosses a lot of mountains and might even find more snow. But anyone taken this route?

I'm not sure if this 34 1/2 foot snowmobile is ready to skirt the powder, but we'll get there after our mail, I guess...we'll be the ones pushing with a sort of red Geo tracker.

I drive 260 across the rim many times in the summer. It is high and cool, but not the road you want to be on if it is snowing. Even in good conditions it will take several hours longer then I-40 to I-17. Did I mention the Elk heard?

MSN weather is forecasting flurries for Thursday in Flagstaff.

heard or herd?

Richard,
Mike is funning with you. Personally I don't think those elk on the rim hear very well at all. What is this I hear about gift exchanges? We have some champagne left over from Picacho.

Mike - I here u

Ken - Anthony R from NM came up with the idea. I kinda dropped the ball on this one. I don't think that enough folks are aware of it to make it work, we'll see.

Things have been a bit crazy at my house the last couple of weeks. I'll explain at the rally.

Uh-oh!

Went out last night to pull my truck into the garage and found a huge pool of fluid on the ground. Looks like oil but it is positions on the passenger side and under where the transmission dip stick is. It was after hours at the Ford dealers but I left a message. Hoping to hear from them by 8:00.

I will be sooooo angry if this cannot be fixed by Friday morning. I already missed the new year's rally.

Wish me luck and speedy AND inexpensive repairs.

Oh NO!

AirstreamGypsy,

Sounds like the seal around the dipstick, where it enters the pan, which is no big deal. Lets keep our fingers crossed that this is the case!

My truck is still at the Ford dealer in Las Cruces, NM.
Transmission front pump seal leaking, and replacement of 3 rear wheel studs which sheered off on I-10.

Hope we can BOTH still make it!

Michael

Michael,
Your luck has not been great either. If I recall you had to make repairs on the way to Burning Man.

WE WILL, both be at the rally! "Power of Positive Thinking."

Found someone to take me in around noon. Then I'll know.

Thanks!
Suzanne

We're staying in Phoenix now and expect to leave for Cottonwood on Friday morning, only a few hours drive. Weather here has been great for the past couple days.
