Caravans and Families?
Was looking over the Oct beret. Noticed that all of the posted caravans were hugely long and hugely expensive. It makes sense that most of them would be this way, but all? No family could do one of these. Well, none that we can afford to hang with.
SWMBO and I discussed this over dinner. It seems odd that there aren't any one week caravans, convening on a Sunday, doing Wisconsin Dells, Cedar Point, or some other amusement park, for a day or two, then returning to the start point on a Saturday. This gives people a day, maybe a day and a half to get there, and only burns a week of vacation.
Not that I have an emotional problem with taking more than one week, but in practice it can be a touchy thing to arrange.
Have the caravans always been this long?
If not, when did this trend really start (if it's a trend, I bet the average duration of a caravan is inversely proportional to WBCCI membership)?
Thanks.
