Ready

Well, I'm hooked to the truck and ready. Just waiting for Carla. Hope the fair traffic won't be bad.

We were heading down to Cirque du Solie and passed an A/S heading north on 95. Logan said it was Eva and waved hello.

A great NEU event

Lake Forest Resort is a beautiful campground and it was nice to see everyone again. As newbies, it is nice to get to know you all. Food was great - thanks to the chefs and the hosts. Looking forward till we meet again.

Did you get home before the down pour?

Back

I got back to sunny skies and warm breezes.... Just a couple drops on the way home but nothing major.

I was glad that I installed an anti-sway bar recently. The cross winds coming home were pretty strong, but the rig stayed true. I did see a white box trailer, waggin all the way down 495.

Speaking of 495, I traveled up to the meeting from Southern Massachusetts and one of the worst parts of the ride is from lowell to the rt 95 interchange, but this time I drove 495 N, rt 3 North past Nashua NH, 293 East, 93 North, 101 E and then 125 North to 16 North. This was a piece of cake, no construction, and nice smooooooth roads. I don't believe it's much further out of the way, but a much better ride up and back versus sucking wind on 495.

Great to see you all again. Wonderful food Mary, Paul, Bruce, and company!!!

Great rally, great food, great friends.

For those of you that made a hasty exit you missed all the wet fun. We had a cookout under Yuki's awning. She can tell you where she was!!

Rivet Big Thank You

Wanted to thank all of the helpers behind the scenes who made this such a successful rally. It was such a pleasure to work with you, you made it seamless.

Grilling in the rain for lunch today was the perfect way to end this weekend. We are hardy souls in the NEU. How many people can eat lunch together under a Bambi awning??? 11 (2 comfortably and 9 to block the rain) MyBoy we did end up with the best seats.

Look forward to seeing you all again.

<sung to tune of Gilligan's Island>
(the song mostly works but I lose it a bit at the end...anyhow...enjoy...)

Just sit right back & you’ll hear a tale, a tale of a fateful trip
That started from Lake Forest Shores aboard this tiny ship.
The mate was a mighty Airstream man, the skippette brave & sure.
Nine passengers set sail that day for a short lakefront tour,
A short lakefront tour.

The weather started getting rough, the tiny ship was tossed,
The passengers were huddled tight 'neath seat covers and tarps
If not for the courage of the Airstream man
The new president would be lost
The president would be lost.

The ship found ground after laboring thru waves
With the Airstream man
The Skippette too
The president and his wife
The newsletter editor
The caravan chair
A moderator in training, his wife and son
And two new members who will all remember this day
Here on Lake Forest Shores...
Here on Lake Forest Shores.

Just Wonderful!

I cannot begin to thank the folks who held this rally. It was wonderful! The installation dinner was better than most fancy restaurant food I've had and the company was great (as always)! Then we had the joy of a BBQ in the pouring rain on Sunday - I LOVED it. It does not get any better than this folks! A group of people, from different backgrounds brought together through their love of Airstreams. Kids, Dogs, Birds were all in attendance. ALL are members of the NEU.

We followed "Bugsbunny" home most of the way as they live in the next town down from us. What a beautiful, Classic MH, they should be proud. I know I was proud as many folks on the highway were pointing at our mini caravan, waving and giving us a thumbs up sign.

Thanks again! I'm beat and need to get some sleep now. It was a terrific weekend.
